How: Bottle at Kralovstvi, Prague
The look: Clear dark ruby body with a short-lived beige head
To me a typical Czech Polotmavé (Czech Amber Lagers) is: Hay and biscuit wrapped in caramel. Very light fruity notes with no specific fruits giving the impression of slightly fruity caramel. Moderately sweet. Sweetness is well balanced by dry grassy hops. Body is smooth. Medium carbonation.
This one: As above but a bit dryer and less overall less tasty than average. An overall feeling of lack of freshness although I’m sure all Cerná Hora bottles at Kralovstvi are fresh.

Apr 4, 2008 Bouteille de 500 ml dégustée chez Kralovstvi (Prague, Rép. Tchčque). Arôme: Odeur de d’houblon avec une pointe de caramel. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée foncée. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goűt de céréales grillées avec une pointe de caramel fruitée. Durée moyenne de l’arričre goűt. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture huileuse. Légčre présence de caramel en arričre goűt. (Rating #1544)
pivnizub (3900), Porúří, Germany
Nov 15, 2007 Bottle (Diky, Quack-Ducku !): Hazy, quite stable foamy off-white layer, sweet-maölty, caramelly nose with a tinge of herbal hops and molasses; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, quite "full" bodied for a beer of 4.0 % ABV; sweet-bitter finish with distinctive aromatic hops in the aftertaste. Good and well rounded..........
Quack-Duck (1906), Bodensee, Germany
May 26, 2007 clear amber colour with large white head. Slightly watery flavour, but quite nice. Tastes of roasted malt, malt, a little fruity. Finishes with a dry note.
dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany
Mar 29, 2005 Bottled. Clear amber colour. Quite lasting, medium-sized, lacey head.
Somewhat weak cookie malt aroma. Didn´t taste stale, rather fresh, but it is a bit one-dimensional. Slightly sweet and malty. A bit reminiscient of a cheap altbier, but still drinkable.
