COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Northwest American-Style IPA. The color comes through as a deep gold with orange hues. Fruity and citrusy hop aroma shines, with hints of pine resin. The four hop flavor dominates, re-enforcing the aroma with more citrus, fruity and piney notes. The malt character is clean and smooth with a unique toasted flavor (thanks to the generous helping of Victory malt), all held together by a firm bitterness. Apocalypse has a medium-bodied mouth feel, finishing crisp and dry. All of this results in a very drinkable IPA.

Hops: Horizon, Centennial, Amarillo, Cascade
Malt: 2-row Pale, Victory, Crystal

A clean, sturdy wcipa. Citrus, pine on the nose, well rounded hop flavours on the tongue, balnced by a clean biscuit body. Fruity. Decent finish. A tad non descript, but a very drinkable beer.

12oz bottle from Belmont Station in Portland, OR. Pours a hazed, pale golden-yellow colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty solid. Pineapple and other citruses with a good amount of florals and a light pine resin. A few tropical fruits and apricots with a light sugary note as well as a lightly sweetened caramel malt backing with hints of bread. Flavor is similar. Pineapples and tropical fruits up front with lots of florals and a few sweeter, resiny pines. Lightly sweetened, somewhat bready caramels with a few apricot notes before this finishes dry, fruity, moderately bitter, and lightly sweetened. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid IPA. Lots of fruity hops with a lightly sweetened malt backing and a nice, balanced bitterness. Good beer.

A comparison sample from the bartender to help me measure Hop Lava and RPM. Another Eastern Oregon great IPA. Solid and strong without a Stone-Ian overdose of hops.

Super hazy, almost golden tinted bronze and copper coloured body with a thin, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of grapefruit, nice rich piney hop with a bunch of apricots and other sweet scents tucked in with a decent amount of malt. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and piney hop notes balance out a perfect malt backbone and show a herbal and floral finish with lavender, sage and light hay notes with a very peppery yeast strain and a good subtle sweetness at the end. Overall, a very nice and complex IPA with a lot of deep flavours that show well and donít cloy the palate at all. Great to sample and well worth searching out for if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 28-February-2012 for US$4.15 sampled at home in Washington after running a half marathon on 16-September-2012.

This is an excellent IPA. I had little or no expectations when I opened this beer. It was an after thought as I grab a few beer before I crossed the border. Boy, was I surprised. What a great IPA. Not too grapefruity, lovely aroma and a super smooth taste. A REALLY nice beer. You will enjoy this IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 Bottle. Clear yellow pour. Piney hop notes. A little unbalanced with an under sized caramel malt backbone. Re-rate on tap at 10 Barrel Brewpub. Original rating 3.8. Big pine and citrus notes. Better mouthfeel. Fresh. Good stuff.
