COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Northwest American-Style IPA. The color comes through as a deep gold with orange hues. Fruity and citrusy hop aroma shines, with hints of pine resin. The four hop flavor dominates, re-enforcing the aroma with more citrus, fruity and piney notes. The malt character is clean and smooth with a unique toasted flavor (thanks to the generous helping of Victory malt), all held together by a firm bitterness. Apocalypse has a medium-bodied mouth feel, finishing crisp and dry. All of this results in a very drinkable IPA. On tap @ 10 Barrel. Deep amber with a thin beige head. Big PacNW hop aroma and a bit of caramel malt. Flavor is a great balance of bitter hops and some sweet malt. Medium body with active carbonation and a clean mouth feel. Nice beer, slight above average IPA.

A clean, sturdy wcipa. Citrus, pine on the nose, well rounded hop flavours on the tongue, balnced by a clean biscuit body. Fruity. Decent finish. A tad non descript, but a very drinkable beer.

RBAG summer 2012. From a brown 650ml bottle. Dark golden pour, hazy. White filmy head with spotty lacing. Pleansatly hoppy nose with pine notes, assorted citrus and caramel underneath. In the mouth the beer has grapefruity hoppiness. Finishes with a lot of grapefruity hops, Medium body with nice carbonation. Easy to drink, good hoppiness throughout.

A comparison sample from the bartender to help me measure Hop Lava and RPM. Another Eastern Oregon great IPA. Solid and strong without a Stone-Ian overdose of hops.

Draft @ Black Back Fly shop. Big citrus of grapefruit, mango and just a bit of pine wafting out of the snifter. In your face citrus. Taste is just as nice as the aroma. Tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine that isn’t really bitter on the palate. Lots of sweet bready malt. Also some yeast presence. The taste is wonderful. No over whelming bitterness at all. I can see how some hop heads may not take to this. For me, I would order this on draft again. Well worth the price of a glass.

Enjoyed at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier, VT. Pours a slightly haze amber colour with good lacing all around and a head with decent retention. Good hoppy nose with orange notes. Same flavours with the nice orange blending over the hop. A nice mix of citrus (grapefruit for hop, orange-fruitiness for malts). Quite refreshing.
