On draught at Saraveza. Fuzzy apricot aroma. Light funky sourness pairs nicely with the fruity apricot sweetness.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2016 Draft at Moriartys. Murky golden yellow pour. Slim foamy ring. No lace. Full and juicy Berliner Weiss. Toasted caramel wheat underneath. Mild salt and citrus amber fruits on top. Overripe apricots and peaches. Meyer lemons. Green grapes. Honeycomb. Slightly musty. Maybe a bit too sweet but the tartness still trumps.

Apricot is lighter than I’d want to be perfect, but the interplay of Berliner and tart/sweet/aromatic apricot is hard not to enjoy. Good brew.

On tap @ Beer Baron. Hazed straw colored beer with a tall white head. Lots of apricot and sour lemon on the nose. Slight grassy notes, too. Maybe some hints of wet straw sort of funk. The fruit character really dominates both the aroma and flavor. Nice mild yogurt thing to the flavor and plenty of apricot. Nice sourness, but not overpowering. Pretty refreshing and easy drinking. Solid.

Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Bend, OR). Pours a hazy pale straw hue with a flash of golden glow. Mellow bubbly cascades eith frothy whitish head atop. A mellow layer, offwhite head laces small. Aromas are apricot and softened lactic appeal. Cobwebs and dryness, yogurt and some citric appeal. More an earthy twangy tart lactic appeal, yogurt behind that sufficient fruity tart apricot. Initial is lighter bodied, a touch of bready malt and straw meet apricot nectar, lactic appeal and earth. Some dryness, mellow yet growing lactic appeal. Subtle citric lemon, more yogurt and dry grains as we round the corner. A bit creamy, dry and tart as we press on. The apricot addition seems a touch underdone as a sufficient tart and dry Berliner base beneath still shines bright enough. Backend is tart, fruity and lactic as more apricot finallly shines through. Crisp enough body, dulled sweetness and a sufficient lactic appeal comes full circle, is aided by an apricot addition that finally does work. Solid stuff. A nose that falls a bit behind that develops eventually, good flavors that do the same. A good base beneath allows it to happen though, despite a more hew mew pour.
