Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear copper with a creamy off-white head. Aromas of citrus and rye. Med body or better. Flavor is rye/spice with floral and citrus hop. It is either a bit earthy or a bit more rye malty than expected. It is quite tasty, finishing dry and bitter.

Sample at the Memorial Day Deck Beers tasting on 05/27/2013: The beer is a hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, rye and roast malt. The finish is hoppy with a spicy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

"Another winner from 10 Barrel. Hoppy and resinous, iPa like - especially with the added complexity of spicy rye. Aromatic and tasty, medium bodied. Will seek out again..."

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22. Pours a lightly hazy burnished dark amber with bronzed highlights. Dense creamy tan head that falls away, leaving heavy sudsy film. Lots of drippy lace. Bright intense aromatics, lots of pine, grapefruit, and sparkling peppery rye. Great combination. Creamy medium body with average carb. Caramel, pine, grapefruit, and peppery rye on the mid palate. Fairly clean and light finish. Very nice stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Pale caramel, hazy, thin sudsy white head, little lacing.   Sweet caramel and toffee nose, slight candied citrus peel.   Fruity bitterness up front, soft caramel/toffee.   Not sure I get any rye, but I am
not complaining.   Lots of citrus peel and pith flavor, but without being overly bitter.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes citrusy, tropical fruit, caramel and toffee, with bitterness that balances well with the
sweetness.   This one was tasty!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A well malted rye-forward and very hoppy-bitter IPA. Tasty.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed fresh a few days after purchase.
The look: Clear dark amber body topped by a persistent small beige head.
In long: Nose is unstably rye-forward with dank coniferous hops, like slices of rye bread covered with wet pieces of pine tree and pine needles picked up from a wet forest floor. Tasted has plenty of toasted rye (strong toasted rye bread sensation), some juicy liquefied caramel, a generous assertive piney and grapefruity hopping, a biting bitterness of medium-high intensity, a mild lemony acidity. Surprisingly corpulent for a 6.5% clean IPA. Pleasant full body and well levelled carbonation. Well balanced but this beer is a bit too sweet and too bitter to be a session beer, this is more a tasty IPA than a refreshing one. If you like rye-forward beer and if you like bitter American IPAs, this one won’t disappoint you. I wrote this rating late at night, not sure if it can be trusted, I’d like to delete my drunken ratings if only I could tell them apart from my sober ones.
