COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delicately balanced Strong Ale starts with dark copper color mixed with slight reddish hues and a light tan head. Big malty aroma with a Munich character give way to a slight caramel & toffee mixed with spicy noble hop aroma, all wrapped together with a medium-bodied mouth feel. German malt flavor profile with slight roasty notes give Pray for Snow a subtle toffee sweetness balanced with spicy hop bitterness and slight alcohol warming. Served appropriately in a classic snifter.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is a nice deep brownish amber, clear, a nice 1 1/2 fingers of khaki head that sticks. Smell is very promising. Malty with big caramel and dark fruit notes, with a touch of citrus. Also some spicy hop character. Taste is just as good. Malty and complex with a good hop finish that doesn't overwhelm the malt. This reminds of a barley wine but much more sessionable. Good brew! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a thick looking brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice toffee with sticky malts and loads of brown sugar. Flavor is again more toffee, maybe some black bread with some plum marmalade. Finish is dark fruit and sugar. I don’t really get much of the hops but this has enough chewy and dark bready malt to carry it over to the solid category.

Crisp deep brown coloured body with some muddy brown and ruby highlights and a very thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of nuts, earth, toffee, figs, light hops, caster sugar and a bit of yeast and bananas. Medium-bodied; Assertive toasty malt flavours at first with a metallic and yeastie finish with a little sweetness and hop kick at the end. Aftertaste shows some subdued spices, a bit of dry and vanilla yeast kick and a touch of earthiness from the malt at the end. Overall, a well done deep ale with some pungent flavours and relatively good complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods (Pearl) in Portland, Oregon on 07-December-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 05-January-2014.

Ultimately this beer was a lot more mild than I expected, tasty but mild. This ale has a rich, sweet aroma. The flavors of chocolate, toffee and nuts really combine well in this beer. It wasn’t nearly as hoppy as I expected. Great taste overall.

Draft @ Tomato Bros. Served too cold in a pint glass… dark golden with no more than a ring of white head. After a few minutes of warming, the nose opens up with florals, nuts, and caramel. Some toffee. Flavor is more floral based with a good caramel and earthy base. Lightly sweet, but mostly florals that lack the ‘umph.’ I was hoping for more hops today, but the good flavors are bonding well and it works.

22oz bottle pours a brown color without much head. Malty and lots of spice flavors.

This beer was darker then o thought it would be. It was good but it tasted kind of flat like a New Belgium bottle. Just a couple did the trick in no time flat.

Pours a half finger of head on a cloudy copper colored body. The aroma is grainy and a little lemon. The taste is malty sweet balanced with a mild bitter finish. Straightforward but good. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. A smooth and drinkable beer.
