This delicately balanced Strong Ale starts with dark copper color mixed with slight reddish hues and a light tan head. Big malty aroma with a Munich character give way to a slight caramel & toffee mixed with spicy noble hop aroma, all wrapped together with a medium-bodied mouth feel. German malt flavor profile with slight roasty notes give Pray for Snow a subtle toffee sweetness balanced with spicy hop bitterness and slight alcohol warming. Served appropriately in a classic snifter.

Starts off nice, but not very well balanced. Pours an absolutely beautiful ruby red with a thick tan head. Smells of fruit, vanilla, caramel, hops and pine. Taste starts with a bit of fruit and pine, but then is suddenly overwhelmed with a heavy bitterness that sticks around long after the sip. Would prefer a more balanced finish. Had in the bottle.

Bottle. Strong dark ale. A little bitter but mostly malty. A good strong ale for the winter.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy reddish dark amber color with a moderate tan head on there. I get a mix of bread and grass, with some boozy caramel notes in there. Taste is actually just a bit sweet up front, though with a crisp, slightly bitter finish.

On nitro pours reddish brown. With great head and lacing from the nitro. Aroma is caramel, woody, vanilla, malt. Flavor is woody, alcohol, malt, caramel, toast, and a little harsh.

SOLID winter warmer. Malty and complex, the hearty aroma hits you right away. Roasted malts, hints of chocolate, bread, earth. Just enough hops to provide a little balance. Seemingly a beer that would lend itself very very well to barreling."

12 oz bottle from a 10 Barrel variety pack, served in a tulip glass. A little early for a winter beer, but whatever. Pours hazy dark reddish caramel, with a medium thin lacy off-white cream colored head. Aroma is toffee and roasty caramel malt, just a bit of fragrant hops on the back. Taste is lightly sweet dark caramel malt, chewy thick roasted malt, light hop spice on the finish. Sweetness lingers throughout, but well-restrained along with the abv for a strong ale. None of the individual flavors jumps out to me, but I liked how this came together.

Bottle. Roasty caramel/brown sugar malt aroma. Clear deep chestnut with a moderate beige head. Burnt sugar, black licorice, and bitter herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. I hate black licorice, so I realize this isn’t one of my most objective rates.

A decent seasonal ale from 10 barrel super malty and heavy in flavor. Smells malty and pours a dark red brown in color. From my beer of the moth club. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
