COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delicately balanced Strong Ale starts with dark copper color mixed with slight reddish hues and a light tan head. Big malty aroma with a Munich character give way to a slight caramel & toffee mixed with spicy noble hop aroma, all wrapped together with a medium-bodied mouth feel. German malt flavor profile with slight roasty notes give Pray for Snow a subtle toffee sweetness balanced with spicy hop bitterness and slight alcohol warming. Served appropriately in a classic snifter.

On draught at Gubanc’s. Nutty, malty, caramely, with a really pleasing aftertaste. Great standard holiday ale.

Bottle. Caramel malt aroma with with spicy hop, toffee and some roasty notes. Pours dark copper colored with a thin tan head with poor retention and some lacing. Starts with sweet toffee and caramel flavors with a bit of roast. Finishes quite dry with spicy hop bitterness that lingers on the palate with the roast and a bit of booze. Pretty good, but the finish wasn't overly desirable.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy reddish brown with a tan head. Instant aroma of toffee, caramel, and diacetyl. Flavor has more roast and toffee. Decent, but nothing incredible here.

Bottle from a mix-a-six. January ’16. Deep, ruddy copper pour. Thin tan head. Aroma is slightly spicy. Stone fruits, candi sugar, toffee. Taste is lightly bitter. Sweet roasted toffee flavors, light stone fruits, hints of grass. Crisp finish. Doesn’t linger too long.

Maroon colored brew with a browned head. Piny hops and buzzy amber malts in the nose give off a hint of holiday spice. The aroma is spicy and piny with perhaps of a touch of tannenbaum quality. Nice buzzy resinous character and an intimation of juniper.

Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Bend, OR). Pours a deeper carmelized copper ruby hue, a near haze less pour has some mellow bubbles, deep sun tea reddish glow and carmelized colors. Frothy tannish head atop stays as a full filmy layer, thick ring and full lacing. Aromas are touches of orange pulp and rind, jabs of carmelized malts, biscuit and earth. A bit of spiciness, earth, sweetness. Initial is medium bodied, some decent bitterness and toast elements throughout temper that sweeter, fruit nose. Jabs of orange rind, bitterness and spicy cinnamon hit the palate. Some earth, spice and depth of darker biscuit, subtle sweetness. Surprisingly, this never gets heavy or sweet.. Ending up more spicy and toasty focused, those bitter orange and earthy hops doing some lifting. Hides the ABV fairly well but the spice and firmer hop presence ends up making this one pretty fun. Solid stuff.

On tap at 2865. It poured a mahogany color with a tan head. The aroma was of sweet caramel brown sugar and malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with some wood, brown sugar, caramel, earthiness and a sweet aftertaste. Good stuff.
