Draught. Poured dark brown with thick white head. Much lacing. Malty aroma, with something else, like the aroma of a fine unlit Havana cigar. Full bodied flavour, malt, cocoa, and ín bietjie molasses. Malty finish. I loved this and hope theyíll bottle it.

Christmas/winter ales are some of my favorites, and this is a solid one. Nice malt base. The requisite spices are present, but I wouldn't mind them being more forward. Rather, this is a heavier version, with a solid caramel flavor. B/B+

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep brown body. Hearty malt backbone highlighted by a bevy of lightly toasted and somewhat roasted cereal malt complex. Sweet molasses accents. Very rich grain character.

Out of the bottle from Fred Meyer. Pours extremely dar with a reddish hue. It has a full white head that is slightly creamy. Smells sweet and malty. Taste is very sweet without being overdone. Slightly nutty and roasted taste that I canít quite place. Very unique and excellent winter beer. I am excited to add 10 Barrel to the list of great winter seasonals in Oregon!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle, pours a murky dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is certainly wintery, with notes of toffee, caramel, slight spicy hops, and vanilla. Flavour brings out wonderful toffee sweetness, with just enough spiciness to balance, along with a touch of vanilla. A big malty winter warmer here with everything in perfect balance, maintaining extremely high drinkability. Really well-executed here - excellent.

Dark red, almost maroon in color. Not a ton of smell. Tastes of prunes, light sweetness from malt. Good winter beer. Easy to drink.

On draught at Gubancís. Nutty, malty, caramely, with a really pleasing aftertaste. Great standard holiday ale.
