Again, 10 Barrel offers a fairly accurate commercial deScription here, lending to me not having to say much. Booze is light for a strong ale, good balance, solid beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Guess I've never rated this. Well tick tick tick. Darker toasted malt, toffee, and some darker fruit plus earthy notes in the nose. Auburn pour not much head hazy little lace. Flavored lean more towards dark fruit with underlying residual sugar darker toast and mild earth. Lingering sweet residuals. Medium carb.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Bottled 13 Oct. Winter 2015. Pours a medium, well retained light beige head, with extensive lacing, over a clear dark brown (SRM 27) body.......nose is dark toasted malts, with treacle, toffee/caramel notes, mild dried fruits with raisin, plum tones, moderate herbal hop spice......taste is slightly sweet with dried fruits, raisin, plum, toffee/caramel, all from the malts, finishing with a spicy, moderately bitter hop addition.......mouth feel, medium body, slightly sticky, minimal alcohol, carbonation adds a pleasant creaminess. The ABV is a bit low for the style. However, the malts are rich, nourishing, satisfying, and just balanced back by the moderate hop spice and bitterness. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle poured. Pours a reddish brown color with a lasting fizz ring head. I hesitated on this for a couple years now, because I hate snow, and I’m quite superstitious. A little snow for good beer can’t hurt I suppose. Rich caramel malt aroma and flavor. Ideal beer for standing outside in 10 degree temperature, around a fire. Which is exactly what I was doing during my first and only visit to 10 barrel. Hope to be back soon! Good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a robust, sweet ale. It is a little like a hearty brown ale crossed with a light stout. I tasted some tobacco, molasses, and a sharp, astringent finish. The aroma is sweet and chocolatey. Very good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from QFC, Seattle
Nice dark amber color with red hue, clean, and with small compact head. Aroma and flavor are caramel based, the aroma is also a bit oxidized, there are enough residual sugars, and it ends with a strong component of roasted nuts; although in the final there is a bit of chicory-like bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours hazy/cloudy light brown, orange tint, with a creamy reviving light beige cap, some retention and lacing. caramel spicy maltiness, peppery toffee, nutmeg and cinnamon, roasted berries, earth, dirt and pine; booze, bit of sweetness - burnt sugars, grass, clean yeast. light carbonation - weak bubbles, medium body - oily; assertive if not slightly harsh citrusy-spicy-piney finish. o-k.
