Bomber. Dark, yeasty aroma with some chocolate notes. Dark brown, translucent edges. Mild chocolate initial / mid has some licorice, but also goes a bit watery and metallic / finish is so light and blah. Thin-medium body, a bit too light and watery for the style. Flavors don’t really come out much. Like a schwarz with ale yeast.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jkwood04 (2401) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 21, 2013
22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of roasted and pale malts plus a little chocolate, floral hops, and some dough-like notes. Flavor the same, with not a lot of hops for a black IPA, but a nice blend still. Average texture. Not a bad beer.

On draught at Oswego Grille. Light (for a dark ale), refreshing, malty, with small hop presence. Easy to drink.

Been kinda chasing brews like this. Schwarzbier kinda malt profile, with a nice chocolate thing going on. Finishes pretty dry. They’re billing it as a dark beer for beer-wienies. It’s a very mellow brew, enjoying it with some football and cheese.

Finger of head, black colored body.
Smell is roasted malt, burnt wood and chocolate with good balance.
Taste has a great roast malt flavor with a little sweet bite.
Fizzy texture. Moderate carbonation and medium body. Slightly sticky.
A pretty good black ale.

Bomber. Thought this used to be in the Schwartzbier category. Light roasted malts and a hint of coffee. Lacking any kind of India Dark Ale bitterness. Medium to thin lager-like body with a lot of carbonation. Clean finish with light sweetness.

Has some wheat like character and metallic notes. Has a very tiny amount of roast and has a rather light mouth feel, bleh.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Notes of chocolate, chemicals/cleaner, fruity, smoke. This is not easy to drink, flavors are all over the place.
