COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We craft our S1NIST0R BLACK ALE using a special German dehusked black malt that is free of astringency, giving the beer a rich black color without the traditional dark beer characteristics. You will notice subtle hints of chocolate with an easy drinking balance on the back end. In the glass the dark color may look intimidating to some, but don’t let this beer fool you. Our unique combination of malts creates a very light body and smooth finish.

Growler pour via lagunitas fan. Clear mohogany with a smidgen of cherry wood in the color, soapy tan head. Smells like roasted malt...like in a dry stout with a touch of acid around the edges. Flavors again are dry and roasty...yeah, that’s pretty much all I got. Flavorful yeah, clean enough...not offensive..ok.

Comes out of the tap a barely translucent reddish sable with a nice pale tan head that leaves behind substantial lacing. Aroma is smoky and malty with a coffee tone and some subtle nuttiness. Smoky roast coffee flavor has nutty, caramel and toffee hints. Texture is smooth and fairly fizzy, rather pleasing.

22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of roasted and pale malts plus a little chocolate, floral hops, and some dough-like notes. Flavor the same, with not a lot of hops for a black IPA, but a nice blend still. Average texture. Not a bad beer.

22oz Bottle. Pours out a dark brown topped with a small soapy head. Aroma was of roast, a little brown sugar sweetness, some fruit notes, and a little grain. Taste was much as the aroma with the roast malts leading the way, well balanced with a little bitterness. My first brew from 10 Barrel turned out pretty good in my opinion for what that is worth.

On tap @ 10 Barrel. Dark brown with a small head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and some bready malt. Flavor is bready chocolate malt and some roast with a faint hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a thick mouth feel. Good beer, lots of flavor and pretty drinkable.

Stout-roasty aroma. Black in color with white head. Flavor is that of a light ale with roast notes. Notes: GABF ’09
