Beer guy! Stop taking yourself so serious, our Swill was designed to throw down. German Berliner Weiss with multiple layers of grapefruit - delicious, fun and easy to drink.

12 oz bottle from the supermarket. I really wanted to try this last summer, before they sold out. Last year, 10 Barrel had maybe one facing in your average grocery store. Now they have about ten. So now I see this beer everywhere and I remember how I never got a chance to try it last year, so here I go, buying a single 12 oz bottle from a brewery I said Iíd never buy anything from again. Aroma is lemon candy, floral. Pours clear golden with a finger of white foam that lasts a few minutes. Taste is both tart (5/10 on a sour scale) and sugary sweet (but not cloying--at least not yet), lightly grainy. Thereís a flavor here on the back end that I canít really identify. Itís kind of savory, kind of floral, but neither of those things either, but also both of those things. What the hell is it? Anyway, tastes pretty good. What is the style, though? The bottle says itís an American radler, the description on here says Berliner Weiss, and the category itís placed in is Fruit Beer. So just WHAT THE FUCK IS IT???

On draft. Clear yellow pour with no head. Fruity, sweet, easy to drink. No sourness that I could detect.

Bottle from Walmart. Light golden in color. Nose is fairly tart with a little bit of sweetness. Sweet up front with a good amount of tart flavors. Fruity and sweet with a hint of a vinous quality. Pretty tasty and refreshing.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2014 "I get and appreciate what they were going for here...a citrused up berliner...but Iíd probably have liked it more without the fruit. the underlying tang on the nose and palate is nice, as is the fruit flavor, but itís in contrast, adding a fuller feel and flavor (and a sweetness) than I like in the style. Pretty cool beer, but not one Iíd revisit." 10/14 more grapefruit and more tart (and better) on tap. Up from 3.2 to 3.4

Another truly amazing unique beer, sweet malts with sourness of the yeast, also this complex citrus and sweet honey notes.

As of late I can not find the time to take tasting notes of each beer I sample. I would like to track and record my thoughts of each so I will just use the simple scoring rubric until more time is available.] here comes the boom

Nice and sour, actually shocking at first. Unfortunately the alcohol content is kind of low. Still, a good session or swill beer.

Youíd think it was a Fruit Beer, but itís really just extremely sour. I thought it was a bad batch at first.

Light golden with a white head. Aroma is preserved lemons, fake lemon juice. Sweet on the palate, flat finish. Taste is old lemon juice, hint of beer. Not good
