3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2014 "I get and appreciate what they were going for here...a citrused up berliner...but I’d probably have liked it more without the fruit. the underlying tang on the nose and palate is nice, as is the fruit flavor, but it’s in contrast, adding a fuller feel and flavor (and a sweetness) than I like in the style. Pretty cool beer, but not one I’d revisit."
10/14 more grapefruit and more tart (and better) on tap. Up from 3.2 to 3.4

Another truly amazing unique beer, sweet malts with sourness of the yeast, also this complex citrus and sweet honey notes.

As of late I can not find the time to take tasting notes of each beer I sample. I would like to track and record my thoughts of each so I will just use the simple scoring rubric until more time is available.]
here comes the boom

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice and sour, actually shocking at first. Unfortunately the alcohol content is kind of low. Still, a good session or swill beer.

You’d think it was a Fruit Beer, but it’s really just extremely sour. I thought it was a bad batch at first.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light golden with a white head. Aroma is preserved lemons, fake lemon juice. Sweet on the palate, flat finish. Taste is old lemon juice, hint of beer. Not good

Trade with Prufrockstar - thanks! The Bride and both sort of said "what the Hell?" when we tried this. Yeah, there’s grapefruit, and there are tart, sour notes. Also, the mouthfeel is odd - it starts off syrupy and ends rather fizzy. All in all, though, we ended up liking it...

Very different and very good. Lower alcohol and relatively simple flavor profile. Fruity almost sour flavor. Definitely not for traditionalists but major points for creativity and drink-ability.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at McKay’s Taphouse, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is very sugary, with artificial sweetness and some sweet lemon. Flavour is not like a Berliner weisse at all, with a cloyingly sweet body - loads of residual sugars. Not a whole a lot else. Swill indeed - one of the worst offerings from 10 Barrel.

Bottle from Fred Meyer in Newport Oregon. Dissapointing beer. I felt like there was too much going on & othe overall flavor was sweet in spite of the small acidity from the "sour" beer.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2014 Hazy yellowy pour. Way, way too sweet, lacking necessary tartness to balance the grapefruit soda sweetness. Pretty gross even on a hot day...
