3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 Draft sampler pour at Face to Face Beerfest ( f22.org ): Still not what I was expecting from IPA, but eyes recently opened during blind judging as well. Brewing process has been cleaned up here, I suppose. Slight lemony with green onion on molasses & sassafrass, and sweet malt aroma. All this present and balanced in flavor, along with bitter hop flavors that are pronounced but not coarse (along lines of green onion and tire) Medium-lean. Clean finish. Appears amber with eighth-inch linen head of tightest bubbles. I think it’s a neutral ale yeast with complexity from malt bill.
I like to support local, and I like the label artwork. This sample pour was muddy apricot colored with wide halo white head. A slight malt aroma, yet disappointingly little by way of hop aroma, nearly a leaf-like note. Flavor is led by caramel malt and some earthy and pine hop flavors, and possibly British-yeast derived earthy tones. Medium bodied, a bit sweet, without a drying out in finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home from Bevmo. Semi clear orange golden coloured pour with a loose sticky off white head. Aroma is caramel malts, sticky resinous, hops, veg hop matter. Flavour is chewy caramel malts, sticky resinous hops, a bit rough round the edges. Strawberry, little toast. Palate is semi sweet and chewy, highish carbonation. Decent old school IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from the bomber into a shaker glass. Medium to dark amber with a light tan head. Aroma is a big dose of hops, mostly citrusy with some floral and resinous notes also present. Flavor starts with a smooth biscuity malt backbone and transitions into a sweet and hoppy finish. Citrus and floral hops are the main focus but this has a nice sort of oily hop appeal that makes it seem like fresh hops were used. Medium bodied and quite well balanced. This isn't overly malty or hoppy, but rather marries the two well. While I love the hop bombs, this is a solid IPA for sure.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
~Strong citrusy aroma of orange and grapefruit with berry and caramel malts.
~Pours a slightly hazy light amber color with lasting white creamy head.
~Hop flavor isnt aggressive as the aroma, more piney resinous type hops, some grapefruit, well balanced with sweet bready malty character.
~Medium full bodied, slightly chewy, medium co2, lingering resinous hop character.
~Aroma is very nice, flavor is a bit muddled. I prefer IPA’s to be a bit drier and refreshing. Still an enjoyable beer nonethless, but would only have one.
