Immodest hop additions throughout the brewing process characterize this distinctive, amber colored NorCal fashioned India Pale Ale. With an ABV of 7.2% galvanized by a total of 64 *IBUís, we were obliged to create an IPA that would distinguish itself as immortal amongst the common, and with an unforgettable name. We believe we have done just that. Heroine India Pale Ale. A pint of help is on her way.

I like to support local, and I like the label artwork. This sample pour was muddy apricot colored with wide halo white head. A slight malt aroma, yet disappointingly little by way of hop aroma, nearly a leaf-like note. Flavor is led by caramel malt and some earthy and pine hop flavors, and possibly British-yeast derived earthy tones. Medium bodied, a bit sweet, without a drying out in finish.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a darker orange/gold color with an off white head. The aroma is fruity with some odd notes of apple cider and florals. The flavor is strong with florals and fruit with a little toasty and lightly caramel malts. Slick and oily body, but finishes reasonably dry with strong bitterness. I didnít have high hopes for this one after looking at the reviews, but I donít think itís really that bad. Maybe thereís some batch inconsistencies here. A decent old school "balanced" take on the style, but there are many others Iíd choose first.

Bottle in a hotel room in SF, February 2014. (my first one from this brewery) Dark amber with a small head. Aroma and taste of fruit, pine, malt and some hay. A bit anonymous and quite sweet. Drinkable but not that interesting.

bottle on 8/18/13 from a run down liquor store in Crescent City, CA - Pours dark copper-amber with minimal head. The aroma has caramel malt and maybe a little citrus. It tastes sweet at first with toasty malt. Moderate, green hops bitterness kicks in. Itís medium bodied with lingering bitterness. Thereís something different about it compared to most IPAs but itís alright.

Bottle. Hazy yellow orange pour with a nice tan head. Aroma is slightly spicy hops and a little pine. Flavor is kind of muted and a little watery. Finish is slightly bitter. Level of carbonation is medium to low and body is thin. This tastes like a session ale to me. Definitely does not taste like 7.2% alcohol.

Backlog purge. On tap at Pub Republic in Petaluma. First of all, Iíd like to point out the beer description: "With an ABV of 7.2% galvanized by a total of 64 *IBUís, we were obliged to create an IPA that would distinguish itself as immortal amongst the common, and with an unforgettable name." This is just brutal copy. Christ. Awful. Anyway, this is an IPA that tastes like crystal malt because thereís too much crystal malt in it and crystal malt sucks.

Not as bad as some here say. Very dank, cannabis flavor. Clean on finish with a note of straw at the end.

Taster at Whole Lotta Brews going on at Whole Foods in Folsom. Aroma kicks ass with piney and floral hops. Absolutely falls flat in every other area. Not good beer.

1 pint 6FL oz bottle from a shop in San Francisco. Amber colored body with a small white head. Aroma of pine and maybe some raisins. Soft bitter hops, without the specific exagerated fruity hops. Medium carbonation. Soft bitter finish. Not what most people expect from an IPA , but I like this. ****

Tons of toasted brown bread notes a little herbal and floral I guess. Mostly toast caramel etc. reddish brown pour thin off white head. Toasty brown bread caramel and vegetal. Light hop bitterness. Dry soft resins in the finish. Too much dark malt. "Meh" (Jon, 2006).
