Draught at the pub. Deep ambery-orange color with hazy appearance. Leaf hoppy, resinous grapfruit aroma along with rough yeasty (in a good way), bready character. The flavor is full of cascade hoppy fruitiness. Itís very grapefruity indeed. Despite the 65 IBU, itís not bitter at all. The main mouthfeel is sweet malty, and full of resinous hops. Full bodied with creamy texture and thick, lacing head. I could drink it as an every day-drink. Nice and authentic introduction to the style of this beer for eastern european beer lovers like me.

3fourths (7976) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2009
draft at 1516 in vienna. unfiltered cloudy dark amber colored body with a frothy dark tan head. vibrant and fresh hops shows creamed melon and mandarin orange with lightly notes of key lime pie and crystalline/sugar/gummi bears. candy sweet, syrupy, cloying, too thick. caramel and honey malt seems to clash with the vibrant citrus hops. overall pretty good IPA and a gem for those americans living in vienna who crave it, but itís a bit too weighty and chewy for my tastes.

On tap at the brewpub in Vienna, July 09. Not bad at all. Citrus, caramel. Hoppy but not that bitter. Refreshing.

Draught @ 1516. Hazy golden orange with lovely thick head. Flowery hop aroma. Unusual creamy texture with modest carbonation. Sweet malt foretaste with hint of citrus / orange and long strong bitter finish. An excellent beer.

On tap; an amazing IPA in the heart of Europe. This was an awesome change from all the German beers. Color was orange with a foamy head, just like the picture. Aroma of citrus and flowers. Flavor was great. I write "whole leaf" for some reason as well as hoppy and citrus. Just a yummy beer.

Itís worth a special trip to try this and to reflect on the differences between the version brewed here and the one back in the States. Iím not a big fan of Hop Devil to begin, but this was an enjoyable beer that paired well with the food. One would be hard pressed to tell a difference in the appearance between the two, although I thought on the palate that this came out maltier than the U.S. version, i.e. more caramel with bitter orange than the more hops dominated American version. A nice beer, and a nice respite from all the lagers and pilsners I had been drinking until then.
