4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap; an amazing IPA in the heart of Europe. This was an awesome change from all the German beers. Color was orange with a foamy head, just like the picture. Aroma of citrus and flowers. Flavor was great. I write "whole leaf" for some reason as well as hoppy and citrus. Just a yummy beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
100ml sample from keg at brewpub
Pours hazy dark amber with the herbal noble hop aroma one associates with European hops. Medium body and carbonation and decent bitterness with plenty of piney resin but with malt to balance. An enjoyable IPA I’d have happily drunk again.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at the brewpub.
Hazy amber appearance with a superb, stable off-white head. Looks like a statue for the beerfoam...Citrussy, grapefruit hop aroma leads the character in the nose with a fine caramel background. Smooth mouthfeel with malt and caramel, honey, cinnamon and vanilla. And of course the powerful but well balanced hoppy flavor with a resiny-citrussy character. Dry, hoppy.fruity aftertaste with grapes and citrusses. Nice!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at the brewery. Aroma fruity hops, but also damp, basement, washing cloth. Hazy orange colour. The same off-flavours taint the taste as aroma. Something went wrong here. Marked for future rerate.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
19/07 On tap at the brewpub. It had hazy orange body with medium sized ocher head. Nice hoppy aroma, strong herbal and grass scents. Touch of biscuit malt becomes fully evident in the flavor. Very nicely balanced between sweet and bitter, this beer was not particularly complex but still very pleasant. Notes of wood, oranges and some toffee yeasts besides everything already mentioned. Medium to full bodied with pleasant, rich finish that ended up exactly where it started - between bitter and sweet. Nice one, almost double IPA!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, orange, sweet fruit, light malts. Flavor is a lot of citrus and oranges, sweet fruity. High on hop flavor but the bitterness is soft. It does finish with a decent bite, though. Nice beer, but could use a better bitter bite overall.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Old BA rate - tap)
Poured with a two-finger thick slightly egg shell colored head...pretty frothy and left chunky lacing throughout the sample. Some bready/sweet maltiness followed by very prominant citric and cedary hop aromas. Powerfully bitter, but balance well. Great hop bitterness comes over the palate first and it is a bit earthy, citruisy, and piney at different points. Very nice complexity for the style. Good malt balance, but doesn’t come close to rivaling the hops. Medium MF, muted carbonation and more than coats the palate. Pretty high drinkability, nice flavors along with the high hop factor. A little less aggressive than it’s US namesake. Overall, pretty fantastic brew and slightly more complex that Victory’s Hopdevil, though less assertive.
