(Old BA rate - tap) Poured with a two-finger thick slightly egg shell colored head...pretty frothy and left chunky lacing throughout the sample. Some bready/sweet maltiness followed by very prominant citric and cedary hop aromas. Powerfully bitter, but balance well. Great hop bitterness comes over the palate first and it is a bit earthy, citruisy, and piney at different points. Very nice complexity for the style. Good malt balance, but doesnít come close to rivaling the hops. Medium MF, muted carbonation and more than coats the palate. Pretty high drinkability, nice flavors along with the high hop factor. A little less aggressive than itís US namesake. Overall, pretty fantastic brew and slightly more complex that Victoryís Hopdevil, though less assertive.

Keg at 1516. Pours cloudy Orange Brown with a lasting White head. Very fresh hop flavour. Pine and grapefruit. Thick with lots of residual, bitty hops. Very flavoursome.

Pours a hazy dark amber color, topped with average off-white head. Pleasant citrusy aroma. Taste starts sweet with immediate and fairly strong hoppy bitterness. Some spices also in there. Very nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Hazy cloudy orange with a thin, sticky, lacy, white, super sticky head. Smells of nice freshly picked fruit - mango, peach and lemon zest with caramel and sweet malt, medium oily dry prickly body. Initial taste of hops and fruit and finishes caramel, dry with a lingering zest. Keep me coming back and top notch IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2010 Notes from 7/10/05. Pours a copper-brown color, medium-bodied, with a nice head and lacing left on the glass. Aroma is fruity with a nice hoppiness. Sweet, somewhat spicy flavors with a nice bitter hoppy bite. Finishes a bit bitter and dry. Itís by no means the strongest IPA Iíve had but itís quite solid. Glad I stumbled upon this one.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a murky orange-copper with thick beige head and laces. Nose of citrus, pine and lots of caramel malt. Solid bitterness. Very welcome after a week of nothing but pils and lagers

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2014 Draught at the brewpub. Orange, hazy body with medium, creamy, white head, that leaves some lacing. Aroma is one of the most unique I have experienced in an IPA so far, with dominant flowers, also grass, grapefruit, orange and lots of malt notes. Taste is with about the same aromas, starting sweet and citric, with a strong, dry, grapefruit like bitterness kicking in pretty soon. Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry with grapefruit and grass notes. Although Iím a fan of more fruity IPAs, this is just an outstanding brew and a very unique IPA, that gives more room for flowery, dry and malty notes. Brilliant!
