Draft at brewpub. Aroma is hoppy, grapefruitish. Orange hazy appearance with a medium white head. Taste is bitter. A strong IPA.

as good as the origional if not better, the smaller batches may factor in. pour a nice glowing unfilterd marmolade amber color. nose is fresh whole hops with citrus, and slight pine. sharp clean finish after a nice clasic ipa. the best american beer made in vienna, if that makes sense.

This was just a very cool beer to see in Vienna. A - Orange, amber, creamy head which left some nice lacing and lasted the entire beer S - Pine, Citrus zest, hops, bit of burnt sugar T - Right off the bat, hops and grapefruit rind and citrus zest, a bit of malt sweetness to balence it out and a clean crisp bitter finish MD - Very nicely carbonated, smooth and creamy

Draught @ 1516 Brewing Company. Clear, deep amber-orange colour, long-life small white head, pine and floral aroma, full body, smooth fizziness, sweet caramel taste, very hoppy bitter palate with citric and pine notes. A well-balanced IPA style beer with moderate hoppy notes.

(Draught at the brewpub) Fruity (grape-citrus), crispy, hoppy aroma with a hint of caramel. Amber colour, hazy and average size, thick, light brownish, slightly lasting head with excellent lacing. Fruity (citrus), crispy, bitter, malty and caramel flavour. Medium to full-bodied, slightly dry and softly carbonated palate. ’1516 NZ Victoria Hop Devil I.P.A.’ is the best Austrian brew I’ve tasted so far! Excellent!! 18/05/07

On tap at 1516. What a let down. Do you guys dislike hops or something? Very light aroma, very minimal bitterness. Ok, it was refreshing and tasted fine, but a very weak IPA. Should be renamed M.I.P.A. where the M stands for mild.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2014 Draught at the brewpub. Orange, hazy body with medium, creamy, white head, that leaves some lacing. Aroma is one of the most unique I have experienced in an IPA so far, with dominant flowers, also grass, grapefruit, orange and lots of malt notes. Taste is with about the same aromas, starting sweet and citric, with a strong, dry, grapefruit like bitterness kicking in pretty soon. Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry with grapefruit and grass notes. Although I’m a fan of more fruity IPAs, this is just an outstanding brew and a very unique IPA, that gives more room for flowery, dry and malty notes. Brilliant!

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2009 Draught at the brewpub: A hazy reddish amber colour with a foamy, off-white head. Grapefruity, pungent citrus and yeasty aromas - the yeast is a bit dominant but settles after while. The taste is of fruity/resinous/piney/citrus hops, with a stable malt backbone. It has a medium body and a dry, pronounced bitter finish. Simply lovely and one of my favourites already.
