COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber Style Ale. Roasty finishing malts, balanced with just enough bitterness provides a traditional amber ale that is dark red to the eye, but not heavy on the palate. 16 Mile names this premium amber ale for the famous sunsets found at the Breakwater Lighthouse located off of Lewes Beach, Delaware.

A-- Poured an opaque dark golden brown color. No visible carbonation to this at all, very clear looking. Short lived light brown head. Just a touch over film. Just a tad bit of retention on swirling. A couple lines of lacing but not much else. S-- Malt, malt and more malt. Roasted malts, Carmel malts, the list goes on. Carmel and a biscuit like smell in this. T-- Very straightforward malt taste. A little sweet but a lot of malt to this. M-- Very good carbonation. Lower medium carbonation but a higher than medium feel. A little bit of a roasted Carmel taste mixed with some orange. Slight bit of hops in the taste but not a lot of them in this. Very Carmel dominant. D-- Session beer!! Very good beer.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark amber, reddish brown color. Small beige head. Sweet caramel apple malt nose with some floral hop notes. Tangy toasted malt flavor. Hints of toffee and vanilla with some dried fruit. Not much complexity, but flavorful. Dryish light bitter hop finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 8/7/12, Rating 2323, one of those weird #s that I enjoy

Aroma: The aroma is somewhat faint with caramel notes, a little bread, nuts, and earth
Appearance: A nice looking clear auburn color with an inch or 2 of bubbly beige head and spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is a little weak as well, thereís some malty, fruity sweetness, but itís feels a little off overall
Palate: The body is light-medium, leaning watery, with a slightly chalky feel, and a short, odd finish
Overall Impression: I donít know what happened here, but this one just didnít work for me. It has a really nice looking pour, but that is the peak of the beer, and unfortunately, it goes downhill pretty quickly from there.

Appearance wise, pretty boring. Color is ruby amber and flat. Aroma is light and mostly of malts. Taste finds a mostly malt based ale with little in way of hop flavor and bitterness. I donít think I would prefer another one.

This is an O.K. beer, but not exceptional. 16 in Georgetown De, just some 10 miles from Milton De from where comes Dogfish beer. 16 mile will have to improve if they want to compete with Dogfish. 16 Mile Iíd drink again, but not my favorite.

Ugh this was a pretty bad amber ale that was very sweet and had a bit of the metallic taste from the aluminum bottle. Just not very good.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a shaker, no bottling date or freshness date.

A: Clear copper/amber body with lots of fine carbonation floating to the light tan thin head. Poor retention but coats the top of the body.

S: Sweet caramel and some mild roasted malts. Malty and sweet.

T: Roasted malts up front with sweet caramel and some mildly earthy floral hops on the finish.

M: Medium to almost thick body with light carbonation.

O: This is just a malty overpriced beer, thereís nothing about it that makes me want to buy or drink it again. No thanks 16 Mile, keep to your small area in Delaware, youíre not going to do well anywhere else.

A nice blend of a red ale and a blonde ale. Leaves a nice "hoppy" finish. Great local brew if you live on the Eastern Shore!

Tap @ brewery. Pours deep amber with medium, creamy off-white head; average retention and some lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, caramel, earthy hops, and faint dark fruit. Flavor is malt forward, average hops, and light esters; dry, slightly bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.
