3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 SamP01 (357) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Pours a dark reddish amber with a quickly fading medium beige head. Both taste and aroma has some toasted caramel malt, barley with some mild bitter hops for balance. A medium bodied brew with mild carbonation on the palate. Finishes with some toasted caramel malt and mild hops bitterness. Flavor could have been a bit stronger but overall an good drinking brew.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt, earth and hops. Clear amber, tan head, some lacing. Grass, grapefriuit hops and spice over toasted malt in flavor. Dry, lager-y feel. Kinda unique, not bad.

Too malty, unbalanced, needed more hops. I didn’t find this beer to be the good.

Bottle 12 Oz. Poured a dark amber with little white head and it is clear. Aroma is of caramel, maybe nuts and malts... Taste is also quite sweet, caramel notes a bit fruity and very malty. a refreshing OK beer, not spectacular but a good beer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 EithCubes (4193) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Bottle, nose strong caramel with some strong sticky toffee and earth, bitter piny hops. Deep amber-red body with a rocky beige head. Relatively straightforward (bland) taste, hint of metal, no real bitterness or sweetness, medium-full body, flattish with a touch of flowers. Pretty boring.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 obxdude10 (1883) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Of the three 16 Mile beers I tasted, this was by far the best one. The Amber Sun poured an amber color with a small off-white head. The head left some really nice lacing around the glass, as well. The aroma featured some roasted caramel malt and grassy hops. The body was very smooth and drinkable. There were plenty of hops in the flavors, with some very nice balanced malt character. The finish was fairly spicy and dry with some more malt flavor to add to this delicious beer.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dacrza (335) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - AUG 18, 2012
glassware: Yuengling pint...occasion: preparing for the Shore...appearance: burnt orange/brown body that has an encouraging, thick off-white head that laces well-- pleasure to look at...aroma: light floral hops and some bready, roasted malts make for an intriguing balance of scents...palate: medium-bodied, soft and creamy delivery, with a brief finish--easy-drinking! taste: lightly bitter, almost as an afterthought, with much more stress on the toffee-like sweetness--refreshng!...overall: Shan’s Uncle Mark sent this to me particularly please by its sneaky-quick 6.1% ABV; he’s more of a pilsner drinker, so I can see why this caught his fancy; I may have to seek out more 16 Mile brews when heading to Baltimore.
