COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber Style Ale. Roasty finishing malts, balanced with just enough bitterness provides a traditional amber ale that is dark red to the eye, but not heavy on the palate. 16 Mile names this premium amber ale for the famous sunsets found at the Breakwater Lighthouse located off of Lewes Beach, Delaware.

Transfer from BA review on 3-22-14- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served an deep amber color with a one finger off white colored head. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave a moderate level of streaky on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer lighter overall with some aromas of toasted malt and a little bit of caramel sweetness. Along with these smells are some light earthy and grassy smells with just a hint of biscuit mixed within. Taste – The taste begins with a biscuit and toasted malt flavor with a lighter level of caramel sweetness. As the taste advances so too does the caramel increase in intensity, but it does so only temporarily, with it again fading a bit as the flavor advances more toward the finish of the taste. Once the caramel starts to dwindle some hop flavors of a more earthy and grassy nature come to the tongue. These remain relatively light overall, and when mixed with the bit of caramel sweetness and the rather toasted malt flavors of the brew, end up leaving a rather clean and crisp lightly roasty flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. Both suit the flavor profile rather well, making for a very easy drinking brew that is rather refreshing overall, but yet still adequately stacked in flavor. Overall – A rather easy drinking beer. Although a little light in the bitter department for a esb and in many ways more amber ale in nature in my opinion, it is decently flavorful and easy drinking none the less.

Can. Pours a deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, earth, and some nuttiness. Flavor was sweet with caramel, bread, earth, brown sugar and nuts.

Amber colored body with a medium sized pale tan head and soapy lacing. Assertive caramel, toffee, light toasted white bread, and a dash of floral and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi-sweet throughout, just a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours your classic red brown amber color. Tastes of carmel toffee and malt. Very flavorful but a little artificial sweetened tasting

Good punch of hops and a savory mouthfeel. Rich in fruit, with a balanced malt treatment. Slightly nutty. Decent finish. A good food pairing for shellfish, crab cake, burgers, you know -- picnic table food.

12 ounce bottle that came in a trade from vlan1. This beer pours dark amber and is clear. A beige one finger head remains for a long time. The aroma is rich malts and that is also tasted. Lighter citrusy hops are bright and grow. A bit of chocolate. Earth comes in mid glass. A nice beer.

On draft at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD. The beer appears amber to copper colored with an inch of creamy white head. A thick sheet of lacing lines the walls of the glass. The aroma offers sweet malt, biscuits, fruit bread. Slightly sweet and malt forward. Light in body and smooth on the palate with a mild hop bite in the finish. This was OK.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber/reddish color. Aroma of malt. Taste is of sweet malt, not much hop presence. Medium body, clean finish. Average...not bad, would drink again but I won’t go out of my way for it.
