COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark pale ale.
An American ale that reserves its right to be different. A bit lighter in body, Old Court provides a citrusy hop aroma and caramel finish. 16 Mile names this ale for Sussex County’s original courthouse, which has been serving judicial needs since 1791. Today it stands on South Bedford Street just south of The Circle in historic Georgetown, Delaware.

ROGUE (2099) - Newark, Delaware, USA - AUG 8, 2013
On tap at brewery. Pours a dark amber color with a two finger off white head. Aroma is quite malty with plenty of caramel, toffee and bready notes as well as toasted grains. Flavor is malt-forward with lots of caramel and toffee sweetness and a subtle floral hop presence. Finishes with a crusty bread character and more sweetness. Medium bodied with a light syrupy texture and moderate carbonation.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper with small frothy white head. The aroma is roasted malt and vanilla. Thin mouthfeel with very sweet malt and grain metallic finish. Not much going on with this one.

rondphoto (2001) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Cloudy dark ruby amber with an over-zealous tan head that shrinks to one finger; swirls of lace. Taste is semi-sweet butter rum that combines with a mild bittering entering the finish. At the last gasp it adds a wee bit of sour. A little heavy, but cleansing, probably best on cooler days.

Elwood (3161) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Serving: bottle oddly enough at a local country club. It pours a ruddy amber with a pillowy off white head. The nose has a little caramel and toasted malt with a little citrus fruitiness. The flavor is malt forward with a little citrus, caramel, wet cardboard, and weird bitterness. Light to medium body with average carbonation. This one isn’t all that great.

Patrickctenchi (3646) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Slightly hazed, copper-red with a short, tan head. Scent is caramel malt and candied orange. Flavour is sweet and bready, caramel, with an orange-peel bitter finish. Much nicer than the ratings currently reflect. Tasty, clean and bright.

Bottle - pours dark red with a nice rising head...and unfortunately it’s downhill from there. Has a dank aroma and a biscuit taste. Overall malty but a very weak mouthfeel.
