COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark pale ale.
An American ale that reserves its right to be different. A bit lighter in body, Old Court provides a citrusy hop aroma and caramel finish. 16 Mile names this ale for Sussex County’s original courthouse, which has been serving judicial needs since 1791. Today it stands on South Bedford Street just south of The Circle in historic Georgetown, Delaware.

Bottle - pours dark red with a nice rising head...and unfortunately it’s downhill from there. Has a dank aroma and a biscuit taste. Overall malty but a very weak mouthfeel.

12 Oz. Bottle poured a dark amber with a light tan head. Aroma was mostly of caramel and perhaps some fruit. Taste is sweet, maybe a bit to sweet; mostly caramel and malts a bit of hops. Light bodied.

Bottle. Light orange malt aroma. Amber with nice light tan head. Lightly sweet orange-caramel malt and very lightly bitter orange peel flavor. Medium body. Solid and unique APA.

12oz bottle from Spirits Middletown. Poured a good looking rusty orange/brown body with an average to a touch smaller frothy light beige head. Aroma is more malt forward with old caramel, nutts and brown bread, perhaps a touch of old rotting orange slices. The body is medium with assertive carbonation that forces the body to finsh full and almost creamy but the carbonation doesn’t die down at all so I really wouldn’t call the finish creamy. Flavor has a very slight hint of pennies, along with old wet toast, wet nutt shells, caramel wax paper and a touch of citrus towrds the end.

Bottle shared by John. Dark brown with off white head. Nose and taste of barley, dried earth, oats, cocoa and orange rind. Very grainy/earthy. Lighter bodied.

Bottle. Citrusy nose with caramel and heavy toffee, light dough but picking up some unusual chocolate overtones. Dark amber pour with a rocky beige head. Taste moderately dry, some hay and cookie with toasted grains, pleasantly malty but that under a thin blanket of bitterness and harsh carbonation, though the latter isn’t terribly significant. Good citrus profile but I want more from the hops. Touch of booze toward the back, aftertaste is a little stale, and the full body is too strong for an APA - we might better class this with the IPAs. Enjoyed it well enough!

This is an intriguing beer. It has a beautiful orange hue and creamy 1-finger head with slight lacing. The malts come through as sweet and the hops are earthy. Not really what I expected to taste for a Pale Ale, almost like an amber/red. I liked it though.

Cloudy, reddish brown appearance with a small tan head and little lacing. Subtle caramel malt aroma with a hint of ripe fruit in the background. Taste is molassas, caramel malts and dark fruit followed by spicy hops. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with an average length finish. Would agree to disagree about the style it is listed under.

Poured from the bottle into a narrow pint glass to drink. The beer had a copper color with a slight dark amber hue and a large foamy off-white head that had very good retention and average lacing, but very little cling. Its aroma featured a strong caramel malt component blended with some citrus hops, and lighter touches of honey, lemon, and straw. The taste had a sweet and sour caramel malt flavor with only the lightest grainy bitterness. Its body was fairly airy with lower carbonation and a thin, watery mouthfeel without much life or thickness.
