COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark pale ale. An American ale that reserves its right to be different. A bit lighter in body, Old Court provides a citrusy hop aroma and caramel finish. 16 Mile names this ale for Sussex County’s original courthouse, which has been serving judicial needs since 1791. Today it stands on South Bedford Street just south of The Circle in historic Georgetown, Delaware.

Old Court evokes an older time and you can easily imagine this beer being sipped in an old colonial courthouse. Aroma opens the sinuses with bright lemon, pine and mouthwash. Pours light and clear chestnut with a one-finger rocky off-white head. Leaves a bit of lacing. Medium bodied, this beer sports a balanced profile with a bit of a metallic overtone (noble hops?). No citrus component. Reminds me of an altbier more than a pale ale. Tasty. Comes in an awesome 1 1/2 pint can shaped like a bottle !

Bottle shared with Linh. Pours a plain amber body with white lacing. Aroma is light sweet corn, grain, and sweet, fruity malts. Mouthfeel is thin and carbonated with notes of fruity malts, a light graininess and nothing else. Not overly offensive, but nothing I would ever prefer to drink personally.

I tried my best to get any aroma out of this beer to no avail. The most I could get was a bit of malt. The flavor is not bad, slightly bitter with a dry feel. A little thin going down. Just a bland beer.

On tap @ the Brewery-Brown pour w/a moderate white head. Some hop aroma. Had a bit of a hop bite, some malt, some caramel....not a whole lot going on here. Pretty boring actually, and as others have said, this is definatly not an APA, more like a brown ale or Amber.

Not an APA but rather pleasant. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz can this beer poured a medium brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that faded and left some lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, molasses, somewhat vegetal malts and moderate notes of cherry, fruity hops and cola. The flavor was bitter and tart with cherry, molasses, caramel, pineapple, grapefruit, nut bread and cola elements blending nicely. Medium finish. Medium body. Interesting.

Brown with quick-fading tan head. Aroma is worty and unfermented. Taste is the same, with weak hop taste. Not sure what this is, but it isn’t an APA.
