Cask handpull at Brewer’s Arms, Lewes. Hazy gold, thin off white head. Decent hop, floral tangy citrus. Some yeast on aroma. Malts are quite juicy. Good floral hop finish which builds to a nettley citrus zing.

Cask at Foy Boat, Ramsgate: Very light yellow ale. Citrussy with lots of hops. Nasty aftertaste ruins everything though. Shame as this beer has some promise.

Cask at The Star, Old Heathfield, Sussex. Pale gold with a small white head. Hop aroma with some yeast. Fruity taste with a pleasant mid bitter finish. Served a fraction too warm,

At the brewery tap, with tashi, 13th April 2008. Still and gold, this has a predictable citrus aroma which is spoilt by notes of dust & plaster. The taste is bland and after trying the Hop Pocket, this was a real disappointment. 1648 can do better than this.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at The Junction Tavern. Pale blonde colour. Hoppy aroma with some light citrus and slight notes of alcohol. Similar flavour with a dusty bitter finish.
