3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 imdownthepub (7461) - Banbury, - APR 19, 2007
Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer Fest ’07. Chestnut coloured with slight head. I found this to be a little thin and short on flavour, frankly a little boring. However there is a sourish fruit flavour, short finish. A little disappointing.

Cask gravity, The Crown Summer BF 09, Nuneaton. Headless ruby. Cocoa, wholemeal, Marmite and a hint of catbiscuit aroma. Slick, smooth and raisiny with some good roasted and cocoa bitterness. Biscuity and vinous butteriness hints, but no sour. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 RichardGretton (3756) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2007
Cask@Rugby Beer Festival, 2007. Brown beer with a lightly dry and caramel aroma. The flavour is watery, caramel and dry. Overall an average caramel dry beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2006 Cask gravity at Rare Breeds BF 06. Very deep chestnut, thin disappearing off white head. Richish malt and hop aroma. Smooth and malty in mouth, bit of sourness. OK, bit dull 2.8/5
Re-rate, cask gravity at Butcher’s Arms, Herne. Badged as BSA (Butcher’s Special/Supreme Ale). Very deep chestnut colour, some white head. It’s got a kind of sourness, some blackberry fruit. Dark fruit aroma, rich malt, but agile too in mouth. Then the finish is like a porter or stout. Really rather stunning and almost un-pigeon-hole-able
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 12, 2005
A mid brown beer with a hint of diacetyl in the aroma. Reasonably malty, with some caramel and treacle toffee notes. Not a typical mild. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, 2005.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2005 Cask@Reading BF. It said in the programme that this is brewed with various herbs and spices, but i didn’t pick up on too many to be honest. Some toffee apple flavours, grainy mouthfeel. Lightly toasty characters. Simple, but quite drinkable. Just updating my comments here: i was told that this in fact does not conatian any herbs/spices as it said in the Reading BF beerlist, but three types of barley, which makes sense, as i my tasting notes would suggest.
