On cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Darkish copper. Mainly malty - nutty and toffee. I know that was probably intentional but I would have preferred a more assertive hop presence - the hops are distinctly restrained and slightly earthy. A workmanlike but unspectacular bitter with a rather old fashioned feel.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some roasted bitter hints. Has a fruity malty bitter finish with hints of caramel and hops in the aftertaste.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Deep amber color, small beige head. Aroma is nuts, caramel and diacetyl. Nutty hoppy flavor with some caramel. Aftertaste has nutty hoppy bitterness. I didn’t like so much about aroma, but flavor is pretty ok.
