Bravo Budejovicke pivo.Best lager beer
in the world in my opinion.Very, very
refreshing, more please. jmglov (15), Tokyo, Japan Aug 30, 2007 Attractive 333mL bottle pours golden with a thin beige head and few bubbles. Aroma is of corn and malts, as is the flavour. The palette has a sharp cheddar-esque bite. This is the *real* pilsener that the American Budweiser pretends to be. Wulfstan (481), California, USA Jan 31, 2008 Updated: May 9, 2008This is nice, tasty, and highly drinkable. It is deep gold with a medium, dense white head that steadily shrinks to a thin lasting top and leaves some decent lacing. The aroma is light sweetish grain, bread dough, herbal, grassy hops and a hint of apple. The taste is less grainy and less full-bodied but more hoppy than what I’d expected based on my experience with Budweiser Budvar. It has a very light, but clean, consistent grain-malt element with a persistent hint of apple peels, but the herbal-grassy hop flavour and bitterness, though not overly strong, clearly dominates with a lingering herbal finish and aftertaste. It’s not oily like Budvar, and is clearly lighter and thinner in body, but it’s lively, and not watery. While the malt flavour is light, and this is not a rich, strongly flavoured beer, it has nice subtlety, hoppy taste and crispness, making it exceedingly refreshing, smooth, pleasant, and drinkable yet not boring at ll. As someone else, pointed out, it does the job that basic "crisp" macro lagers from the US and elsewhere should do, but normally don’t. It’s a good balance of clean, light crispness and flavour and interest. kidmartinek (777), austin, Texas, USA Jan 7, 2008 A straw yellow with good head. Rich earthy pilsener aroma. Smooth palate and full taste. A great pils. Shannon127 (11), USA Oct 21, 2008 This is a very fine example of a czech pilsner beer. Not the most flavorful pilsner I have tried, but I think that is part of its appeal. A nice light crisp beer not overwhelmed by the hops. Head was nice but not long lasting.
