500 ml can, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of caramel and brown bread. Caramel and brown bread in the flavour too, quite nice. Very moderate hops, as normal for the style.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with medium white head. Aroma is very sweet of honey and brown sugar but also hints of hay. Taste is heavy sweet. Body is watery with almost no carbonation. Finish is sweet and sugary.

Can. A small, dense, light tan head forms over a clear, dark brown body. The aroma is lightly roasted, with caramel and dried fruits. It’s sweet on the palate, with caramel and raisins, and some bitterness. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Roasted finish with raisins and bitterness. A decent beer, easy drinkable but a tad too sweet. 130331

Mörkbrun i färgen med offwhite skum. Doftar gräs choklad, rågbröd. Smakar söt rostad malt, gräs lite choklad. Liten bitterhet på slutet.

500ml bottle bought at the grand opening of Aeon in Tsuen Wan.

Clear deep ruby brown colour; Razor-thin to almost no head with what’s left of little beige foam which lasts for about 5 seconds; Minimal lacing with little carbonation; Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and toffee; Light sweet taste of malt, coffee, milk chocolate, cola, light toast and grass; Very light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is quite pleasant, Taste profile is initially muted and then sudden burst of sweet roasted malt, followed by associated dunkel tastes - most notably chocolate and toffee - all in light doses - plus cola, which is quite a surprising inclusion here. Hoppiness is light grass and only trace of bitterness. Malty finish. Fairly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: Finally, I have tasted a proper and a okay-ish dunkel. Previous comments have suggested this brew is very sweet, but I think the sweetness is quite light, just right and appropriate. It also has decent roast aroma and nice chocolaty taste, only being underdone by watery body, very low bitterness and a disappointing non-head. These minuses can be fixed and it has potential to be a good one. A drinkable bargain.

0.5 can. Clear, dark brown in color mixed with some scarlet and a drop of violet. Medium brownish head, satisfying retention. Sweet, malty aroma, not particularly intense, syrup and a delicate note of chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, lacking in bitterness and somewhat unbalanced but not to a great fault. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Finish is sweet and rather short, introduces some of the long expected bitterness, but still leaving a sweetish feeling. Overall it is a beer with potential and room for improvement. Very mediocre but with minor corrections could become a fine Dunkel.

Smells a little malty. Pours dark brown with foamy head. Low carbonation. A little sweet in the aftertaste, like caramelized malt. A little boozy bitterness as well. Bottle.

Börjar bra medhärlig arom av karamell och hö?. Nästan alldeles svart. en tyvärr enormt söt som gör ölen nästan sliskig,
