Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Dec 13, 2007 Bottle thanks to Sectret Santa. Looks great though very cloudy in an oerbier glass. Aroma seems minimal, but clear sweet wheat, lemon and an acid woody note, hints of spice also, peachy as it warms. Taste is initally sour, lemon and acid, all good, once swallowe a sweet biscuity honey note comes up, the finish is peachy honey with a pluckering from the carbonation an dry lemon. An intresting experiance that iv very glad iv had, though not what i expect from a berliner wieisse.
GriffinAvenue (365), South Boston, Massachusetts, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pale, faint grapefruit/lemon color. No head. Lightly hazy and moderate carbonation. Yeasty, citrusy, lemon, lime. Doughy and spicy to the taste. Tangy with some bitterness on tongue at finish. DA (2586), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Nov 29, 2008 Excited to see this beer show up in our market, we don’t get many Berliner Weisses in town, so this was a treat. Cloudy yellow pour with a small white head. Tart lemon citrus nose. Wheaty and excellent lemony sourness. Perfectly drinkable and refreshing. DSG (997), Yuvalim, Israel Nov 28, 2008 (10/15/08) Bottle at Map Room in Chicago. Clear golden color with a medium white head that falls rather quickly. Aroma of fruits (some apricot, pineapple and citrus), wheat and a bit of lactic acid. Sourish flavor with fruits, citrus, some wheaty tartness and yogurt notes. Medium-bodied with very strong carbonation. A good refreshing beer but not as good as real Berliner Weisses (Schultheiss and Kindl). Homer321 (120), Rockledge, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 tart smell up front. crazy carbonation with huge head. super clear and light in color. head doesn’t stick much, no lacing. very tart that catches you behind the gills, but finishes out dry leaving you wanting more - like a warhead. first taste is harsh, but onces your taste buds adjust, they will crave more, more, more. amzing complex for such a light beer. probably rivals duvel on complexity. An amazing sour funky beer. This is what I want to drink when I get done with yardwork - by the case. verymerrymonk (218), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pour is a cloudy yellow body with a thin white head. Sharply tart with lemon and maybe some peach skin. Refreshing and delicious.
