Ughsmash (2835), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 22, 2007 Bottled. Poured a slightly hazy paler golden with a creamy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma picked up deep pineapple and pear esters with sweet bananas and sharper, spritzy orange zest.. underlying bready sweet notes. The flavor found a sweet bready pils malt base with ample doses of pineapple and orange.. sourness is rather mild, but very well-done.. more milky pineapple and orange toward the bottom of the bottle. Grainy wheat notes on the palate pair very well with the rather mild sourness.. lighter-bodied and oh-so refreshing! Great stuff!
m4rest88 (15), Beverly Hills, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 The beer is moderately malty with a light bread aroma. The beer also smells a bit like hay mixed with some citrus fruit juice, mainly lemon.
It pours with an average-huge head that is white in color.
The initial flavor is moderately sweet and finishes sour. It is light according to the palate with a dry texture and the carbonation is fizzy. The finish feel of this beer is extremely dry! BMan1113VR (669), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pours with a large, foamy white head covering a clear fizzy yellow body. Aroma of hay, honey and wheat. Taste is lemony in the finish and quite refreshing. Not as sour or tart as other Berliner Weisses that I have had. Lively bubbles with a dry mouthfeel. LilBeerDoctor (300), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma of lots of spices, yeast. Smells like a witbier. Flavor of initial carbonation, yeast/bread, spices, with a slightly sour finish. Not as sour/tart as I’d expected from a berliner weisse and a little bit spicier. Still quite tasty and very drinkable. sleepylopes (264), New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 What a summer beer should be light but full flavored. Tart nose with fruit and honeysuccle. Nice tart flavor and strong carbonation. a bit like a lambic or a sour. fredandboboflo (306), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Aroma fruity (citrus, bold pear), mildly tart, wheaty. More tartness introduced in the flavor, mingles well with the sweet, increasingly complex fruits. Pretty dry, but not bone dry. Very nice.
