From notes. 4-5 ish oz pour on draft at FoBAB on November 21. The specialty of this one is that it was in Angelís Envy barrels. The pour is a nice lighter black with a pretty heavy dark tan head that falls slowly, leaving random bits of lace here and there. The aroma definitely lets you know a couple things here. One, thereís a ton of cocoa in it. Two, itís a huge milk stout. Three, itís barrel aged as fuck. The lactose is huge up front with a lot of cocoa in it, to the point where youíd think itís chocolate milk. Then the alcohol comes blasting in and you know it canít possibly be. There is a heavy bourbon on the back end, but it does balance the milkiness out well. The flavor is very similar. Milk sugar, chocolate, a hint of vanilla, and a good bourbon really carry from start to finish. The mouth feel is a little lighter, and the carbonation is a little too light, making it come off as a little flat. The aftertaste has a lot of roasted malts to join the chocolate and a little bourbon burn. Not too bad, but itís definitely not one of my favorites.

Pour is viscus black with a minimal chocolate colored head. Aroma and flavor of strong barrel, whiskey, oak, and dark chocolate. Finish is smooth whiskey, oak, slight hops, and molasses sweetness.

Pour on tap at the brewery, thick black pour with dark tan head, aroma brought notes of nice lactose, marshmallow, big vanilla, oak, whiskey into a bit of dark chocolate, roast, some nice coconut notes with a hint of cocoa powder. Taste was nice, rich, full mouthfeel with light carbonation but enough to push through the palate, dark cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, coconut come into some dry oak, whiskey, some bitter roast, coffee and earthy spice come through, finishing off sweet, however slightly oaky which dries it out enough to want another sip. Very well made brew.

Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2015. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of licorice, wood, booze, bourbon and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, chocolate and light licorice. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice.

On tap: The aroma consists of dark chocolate, espresso, oak, black licorice, and a hint of maple syrup. Itís a dark brown with no transparency and a large tan head. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and molasses. The finish has light-moderate espresso, oak, bourbon, and light vanilla. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a brown head. No real head. Loads of lactose with dark roasted malts, vanilla, oak, and low brow bourbon. Good body and mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Inky black without much of a head. Almost burnt roasted malt aroma. Dark chocolate. Not much barrel. Sweet taste. Caramel. Whiskey. Burnt malts. Not much lactose, more of a caramel sweetness throughout. Medium heavy. Medium carbonation. Pretty good. Not much lactose, which is good. Not much whiskey, which I miss.
