Brewed as a salute to our brothers at Spiteful Brewing, Deal With the Devil is a beer that comes with a price: our souls. After securing a box of foolproof, sought after hops, we came up with a juicy pale ale thatís low in bitterness and huge in tropical flavors. This beer is unfiltered. Sediment may form.

Draught@CBC2015 (blue session). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, toffeeish, some herbs and mild caramel as well. Flavour is similar, but has some alcohol and mildly wooden notes to it as well. Balanced, and not overly hopped.

Bomber to stemmed pokal. Pour a rich copper amber, lightly hazed, softly carbonated. Nose is simply pure citra. Clearly a citra-heavy, if not singularly, dry hop. Rich tropical pineapple and mango notes with syrupy ripe stone fruits. Flavor is the same. Basically pure citra. Iíve brewed many citra-heavy and single-hop ales, and this tastes very much like them. Syrupy, tropical, viscous, very sweet, palatable linger. I was expecting more bitterness than sweetness. Still an OK double. A little one-note for me though (albeit that may be the point of the brew).

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a slightly hazy golden orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; malty though. Bitter and piney hops with a big bittersweet backbone. A bit of caramel too. Tastes like it smells with a mildly boozy medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Malty and a little hot, but an enjoyable sipper nonetheless.

Bottle. Small head, deep orange into copper. Nose is malty, hints of citrus, slight pine. Medium to full bodied, slick texture, long bitter finish, quite malty. Nice, more like a barley wine.

Bottle shared in line at New Glarus. Maybe this bottle was not treated well? Old, oxidized nose and taste. Citrus is there. Murky pour.

IPAís arenít generally my favorite style but DwtD is quite drinkable. I donít believe itís available anymore though, if I recall correctly oit was just a part of a series 18th street did. If you do come across a bottle, buy it.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 2, 01/05/2015. Lightly hazed orange topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is citric sherbets, straw, tangy tropical fruit, hop jus. Taste comprises melon, soft bread, tangerine, light red grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close laced with hop bitterness. Ok DIPA but no game changer.

Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Good hoppy pale ale, with lots of passion fruit, peach and some citrus. Pacific style this APA.

Expected a bit more from this one. Tropical fruits are definately present, but a bit watery in the finish.

Pretty simple IPA, not to much to get excited about. Drinks pretty easy. One to enjoy in the sun.
