Here is a father’s toast to his son. Brewed with cocoa nibs and lactose, Hunter boasts a creamy texture and rich chocolate flavor. Vanilla, roast, and caramel sweetness are met with a bright hop bitterness. Complex enough to pair with dinner or dessert. Suave enough to skip the meal altogether. A chip off the old block, alright.

Pitch black oily, no head. Smells very sweet, loads of chocolate in the nose. some peanut? walnut? Very creamy loads of lactose from start to a long lingering sweet creamy finish (did I just write that?) anyway, not too roasty but has all of the qualities you’d expect in am imperial stout. there is a dark fruit like figs with walnut in here as well.

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Pours a pitch black beer with a small ring of off white head on top. Aroma of coffee, molasses, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is very bitter, loads of bitter chocolate as well as some sweeter touches of vanilla. Low carbonation level, decent carbonation. Nice one!

Bottle, 22oz. A jetblack beer topped by a dense, finger-thick brown head. The aroma has a solid dose of coffee, with roasted malts, dark chocolate and some molasses. Licorice notes. Cocoa-dry on the palate, sweet and pleasantly carbonated, full-bodied and with a vague alcohol warmth. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, with coffee, chocolate and roasted malts kept company by molasses, cocoa and a fine bitterness. Lasting bitter and roasted finish with cocoa and chocolate. Very smooth in the very end, with the coffee and chocolate melting together into a higher unity. 141025
