Knuckles on the felt. Hit me. Dealer sends another -- a SEVEN with a Jack in the center. Jeff Kuhnie must have rigged the deck. Warrior, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops lend ample bitterness to this roasty Black Double IPA. SEVEN reminds us of a chocolate orange. Oh, it’s a Cascadian dark ale? Whatever you say, Buster.

22 oz. bottle shared by beerpig317. Pours dark brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma has some roasted malt, dark chocolate, citrus, herbal and resiny hops. The flavor has a strong roasted malt and dark chocolate base; hops are resiny, citrus and earthy. Seems more like a porter they top hopped, but still decent overall.

Bomber to snifter (thanks Beerpig317). Looks good; a dark and fairly opaque cola with off-white lacing. Smells solid; bitter hops and dark malt with some roast and booziness. Tastes like it smells with a nice hop presence, only not as bitter, with an average mouthfeel. Solid beer.

Bottle. Black IPA, imperial porter, hoppy stout??? Whatever it is this was real nice. Chocolate and roastiness. Piney bitterness. Very balanced hops and roasted maltiness full bodied and full flavored. Very nice

Bomber bottle and served in tulip: Basically very deep brown with an initially fluffy off-white head, very good lacing. The aroma has notes of lightly citric and tropical fruity hops, a bit catty, oniony and grassy too. The malt smell of roast, coffee, burnt bread and a touch of powered chocolate. The taste is moderately hoppy and fruity with a fair amount of ashy char tones. Wished that there was not a plastic-y note around the edges however. The mouth feel is lively and aggressive, as noted above ashy and charred finish. A solid Black DIPA but something just does not hit on all cylinders to be almost my favorites of the genre.

Not what I expected. Black thicker pour from a 22oz. Sweet cholate and malt aroma. Cocoa taste. Cofee delicious. Really good black IPA

22 oz. bottle. Pours a big black color with a medium tan head. Aroma of pine, citrus, strong chocolate and roasty malts. Flavor is strong, lots of hop notes, focusing on citrus and pine. Lots of chocolate malt and roast notes as well. Thick, creamy body. Finishes hoppy with a touch of alcohol. Impressive for a new brewery.

22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Batch #3. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is bigger oranges and grapefruits with plenty of florals and pines. Chocolate, caramel, and a nice roast backing. Flavor is similar. Juicy oranges and grapefruits with a solid chocolate and caramel malt backing. Florals, resiny pines, and a bit of an herbal note as this finishes dry, bitter, juicy, and a bit roasty. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid Black IPA. Juicy and bitter with a balanced roast and light malt sweetness. Good one.

Bomber at rbsg. Pours black with a half finger dark brown head. Aroma of roasty chocolate and coffee with loads of orange citrus. Taste follows suit. Roasty to start with citrus on the end. Full bodied with a slightly creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, awesome. Another homerun from 18th street.
