COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A coming together of ideas by 2 of the country’s best breweries. Marking the 20th Anniversary of the AIBA, this is an Australian Brown ale. Rich & malty with caramel & roasted nut notes, supported by vibrant fruity hop aroma & grassy bitterness from the use of local Galaxy, Summer & Stella varieties.

Bottle from five bar. Pours a dark brown/copper with a beige head. Nice lacing!! Aromas of grapefruit, brown sugar and honey. Pine hops upfront in the taste then smoothed out with a caramel malt backing. Citrus hop bitterness starts to appear at the back end of the palate. So drinkable!! Malty, good balance between biterness and alcohol. Nice aromas and good carbonatation, really good beer to enjoy.

330ml bottle. Brown tea like colour with a good even layer of foam. Vanilla, sweet caramel and malt in the aroma which is very nice. The flavour is like the aroma full and malty with a long finish. The beer is everything a brown ale should be and then some.

Produces up a ruby tinged, deep brown with excellent clarity. Head holds up well; a foamy, heavy looking dollop of cream that leaves a drabby lace. A mix of nutty praline, butter, earthy spices and pine resin on the nose; the hops just dominating. It is foamy and creamy in mouthfeel; lighter on than expected. Toffee’d nuts and butterscotch dominates; a little hint of wood and roasted malt hits late with a powdery smokiness and dry, peppery hop finish. There is just a touch of fruit that is uneasy to poke its head out; almost like bitter, monkey finger bananas and green papaya. It becomes strangely drier as it warms. This one grew on me. A seemingly simple brew that works well. (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

From a 330ml bottle on 17/7/2012. Pours a clearish amber with a big head. Has a very nice fruity aroma (apricot), with a little caramel and grass. Has a unusual flavour for a brown ale - again, primarily fruity with some light caramel, chocolate and toffee malt, and a moderate dash of hops. An enjoyable, different and quite subtle ale.

This came highly recommended from the guys at Mane Liquour and it didn’t disappoint. A fine beer, get your hands on one if you can.

Bottle from IBS. Vibrant aromas from the freshly opened bottle Head is med/small with a few large bubbles among the small. Dissipates quickly, leaving a thin lacing. Colour is slightly light cola. Taste at 7 deg C is aromatic sweet grass leaning towards hay with rye. Definite green pepper note in the background. Great melody of aromas here folks! Mouth feel is a little light, the flavours would be appreciated for a little longer (a touch more bitterness please) These 2 breweries should get it on more often, defo on the verge of greatness..

330mL bottle from feral brewery (a special gift from their private stash). Pours cola red/brown with a small off white head and an amazing aroma, pine, toffee, grapefruit, grass.. the brown ales i normally drink are dull and very light on aroma but not this one. The sweet toffee dominates the flavour and there is also sweet candy grapefruit/passionfruit notes .. wow! You can tell someone put a lot of thought into this beer and it shows. I’m so glad i got to try this beer, i just wish it was more widely available.

Bottle at Mane Liquor. Damn this is a fine beast of a beer ! Sexy opaque ruby brown pour with phenomenal lacing. Nose is aromatic fruits, subtle honey and grapefruit. Comes together brilliantly. Taste starts out with piney hops, which are slowly taken over by tropical fruits which linger and linger. This is then followed by a long grapefruit bitterness and a sweet, subtle hint of honey to balance it out perfectly. A damn fine beer. I put the glass down, my hand is back there within 10 seconds because my mouth is salivating for more
