Tap at the brewery. Pours black with a red tinge. Thick brown head that dissipates quickly and fades to a bubbly lacing. Chocolate and roasty aroma and flavour. Slight bitter coffee taste. Some raisin, stonefruit and nuts. Great.

From a bottle. Pours very dark and thick, rich coffee aroma, full bodied roasted flavours with a hint of hops bitterness. A very nice beer.

330ml bottle, probably about 4 months old.
Pours a dark brown (almost black) with a finger of tan head.
Nose is coffee, raisins, brandy, slight chocolate and some bitter orange. Thereís also a kind of interesting slight vegemite yeast component to the nose which I like quite a bit.
My first baltic porter, and I really love the balance of flavours. You get some coffee on the attack, but itís mingled with a sweet plum and raisin flavour, loads of toffee and a hint of something thatís a bit like orange marmalade. The finish brings back some of that roasted coffee, as well as some chocolate and a slight burnt toast bitterness.
Body is medium to heavy, and the mouthfeel is slightly oily and very mouth coating.
This is an amazing beer. 2 Brothers can do no wrong in my mind, and this just further cements it. Itís incredibly balanced, with some novel flavours and also some classic porter character.

The name is puzzling. But not to worry, as it is a good beer. The aroma is berries, chocolates, roast malts and a bit of a cigarette butt. However, initially it smells more like a cheap dunkel, very burpsy over charred roasts. It also looks like an ordinary dunkel, with a dark coca cola syrup colour and little head to brag about. The flavours are nice and round, basically chocolates and plums, woody, sweet, vanilla, Pumpernickel, a bit nutty, with a rather thin body. Best beer of a rather uneventful evening.

Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is malt, chocolate, coffee, roastiness, vanilla with some nutty notes. Taste is medium sweet leading to a sweet hoppy finish. Good stuff.

330ml bottle. Sweet chocolate aromas mixed with coffee beans and roasted malt. Black with a tan head that collapses quickly. Smooth in the mouth with bitter sweet chocoalte flavour with a tongue coating silky velvet mouthfeel. Robust, a meal in a glass.

Dark brown to black, thin fading tan head (from the bottle). All chocolate & coffee smells up front. Lovely roasty flavours, plenty of dark chocolate and some stewed fruitiness in there as well. Well balanced with a nicely bitter finish. Perhaps just a little thin. Great beer, really enjoyed it.
