4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 drinkrealbeer (47) - Virginia, USA - JUN 13, 2011
Reviewing from Notes. I had this beer during the last day Oktoberfest 2010 in Munich. In celebration of the 200th Year they drank for an extra day. I was pumped to try this once in a lifetime beer.
Serving type: Served straight from the barrel at Oktoberfest 2010.
This one was a bit hard to deduct as it was served in a stone mug.

http://picasaweb.google.com/andrewnatio a whole lot on the nose as the head , being outdoors, and carbonation didn’t lend itself well to taking in a lot on the nose. All in all this was a fairly typical Marzen that was a bit sweeter and had a nice clean finish. Given the circumstances of the celebration and collaborative effort this was a pleasure to drink.

In the krug, has a nice stable head. Smells fresh and unadulterated. Grassy. Uber fresh, smooth, balanced, juicy, crisp finish. Excellent, quite a surprise.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Damico (1390) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2010
A rare awesome beer to rate on tap at Capone’s - thanks Matt! The aroma is pleasant, a light sweet bitter yeastiness to it. The color is very light straw, as expected for the style. It has a delicious, sweet bready flavor and goes down so smooth.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 25, 2010
vom holz, Oktoberfest, the only way to get this beer. Rocky head. Yeasty, with light pale malt accent. Very short pour. Light pale malt aroma with hints of fruitiness. Smooth, good balance with the off-dry finish coming from the wood.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jonas (4586) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - OCT 21, 2010
From Cask at the Historische Wiesn.
Served in a Keferloher, looks amber, nice creamy offwhite head.
Light grassy aroma.
Ok chewyness , slighty earthy, light fruit, crisp herbal and grassy hops, light finish.
Quite moreish really and a hell of a lot better than the regular Oktoberfest beers.
