COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber Waves incorporates five different caramel malts to impart complexity, adding a little honey-like sweetness, as well as dark, roasted caramel flavors. To give it an aroma and finish that transports one to an orange grove, 21st Amendment’s brewers used All-American Centennial hops.

2011 GABF Gold Medal winner in the American Style Amber/Red Ale category.

Draft. Amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light lemon flavor with light pine. Medium bodied. Grapefruti and pine lingers with light malt and backing bitterness.

I was expecting something a little more balanced. Had a good nose but the palate was unbalanced for me... I was fighting a head cold when I visited... Still would try and buy again

A: The pour is amber in color, like you would expect, with a mild off-white head and some minimal lacing. S: Lots of citrus notes, primarily grapefruit and oranges. The caramel and bread notes round out the nose. T: I’m not sure where the grapefruit went, but there are certainly plenty of oranges. A good caramel, toffee, and sweet bread backbone. The bitterness is mild and the beer tends toward the sweet side of ambers. M: The body is medium with carbonation right in the middle of the road as well. D: A nice drinkable amber. I would have preferred some more bitterness, but it was good as is.
