3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at brewpub in downtown SF-June 2012-pours copper hue with a fizzy whtie head. nose of carmel, piney earthy hops. flavors have a very nice mild malt profile-sweet and crisp with some sugar cookie like qualities. lots of earthy hops in there as well. comes across more of an ESB with a sweeter malt profile. very clean ferment and more enjoyable than most ambers. For this style, this is awesome!

Not a bad amber. Pours a beautiful clear red with a light white head. Not much smell, slightly fruity. Taste hoppy upfront with a malty finish. Had on tap at the brewery.

Draft. Amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light lemon flavor with light pine. Medium bodied. Grapefruti and pine lingers with light malt and backing bitterness.

I was expecting something a little more balanced. Had a good nose but the palate was unbalanced for me... I was fighting a head cold when I visited... Still would try and buy again

A: The pour is amber in color, like you would expect, with a mild off-white head and some minimal lacing.
S: Lots of citrus notes, primarily grapefruit and oranges. The caramel and bread notes round out the nose.
T: I’m not sure where the grapefruit went, but there are certainly plenty of oranges. A good caramel, toffee, and sweet bread backbone. The bitterness is mild and the beer tends toward the sweet side of ambers.
M: The body is medium with carbonation right in the middle of the road as well.
D: A nice drinkable amber. I would have preferred some more bitterness, but it was good as is.
