Back in Black is our newest year-round beer available now in six pack cans and on draft. Brewed like an American IPA but with the addition of rich, dark malts, this beer has all the flavor and hop character you expect with a smooth, mellow finish.

Black, red hue. Lots of foamy head, lace. Good hoppy aroma, some herbal, some sweet dark bready malts hiding some fruity hops, chocolate and light roast. More of an ipa in taste with some smooth chocolate malt, and light roast.Pine. Grapefruit like bitter. Pretty nice black ipa, dry easy drinking. Not much dark malt harshness, fairly bittered.

I poured it from the can into a pint glass. It pours a dark brown color with a tan head and nice lacing. The aroma is roasted coffee, pine hops, and some chocolate. The taste is coffee, bitter hops, and a hint of chocolate. It was smooth with some carbonation. This is a good black IPA.

My first black IPA, pour is a luminous black, no color hints, with a brown head and lacing. Deep, dark hops smell, malt and roast, light pine, and sweet caramel. Taste is bitter, hoppy, fresh cut grass, malt. Really, quite good

Bitter black and in your face. Malty tangy and not the best honestly. But not the worst either. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Love black ipa and you guys did it right. Nice deep ipa note on first smell. Nice dark hue to it. Taste is bitter at first fallowed up by nice sweet malty flavor. Deep rich flavor dark finish. Great beer for a black ipa. Want to try more from you.

Many thanks to travlr for this can! Nice smooth black beginning. Roast on a malty and not too sweetish body. Soft with floral hops, but neither too hoppy not too roasted. Easy to drink though.

Not sure if I’ve never had this before or what. Nice beer, good example of a black IPA. Dark pour, pretty much what you’d expect, good bit of hops but the dark malts as well. Well done.

12oz can poured into a shaker. The roasted aroma blends with notes of fig and chocolate with just a light hop hint. It pours a dark caramel brown topped by a dense tan head moderate retention good lace. The taste is a medium / medium high bitter juxtaposed with a medium sweetness. The beer is thin, but creamy with a light fizz carbonation and a medium full body that’s smokey with fig and chocolate notes. The finish is smooth with sweet rye and dark fruit flavors as well as a pine spice, and a bit of ash that turns slightly burnt and strengthens late. The aftertaste is ash with grape and a lingering, light syrupy caramel

Can at America on Tap Manchester. Dark brown/black color. Light roast and chocolate with some pine and citrus hops to counter. Decent Black IPA

Draft at Fado. Opaque orange black pour with a solid beige head. Lots of lace. Reminiscent of the better Black IPAs from years back (when the style was popular) but reads a bit sweeter and easier. Charcoal grill. Burnt toast. Coffee grounds. Charred cocoa beans. Marmite. Celery seed. Cola. Black liquorice. Cigarettes. Molasses. Currants. Leather jacket. Nicely bitter and black. Not the best Black IPA but worthy of the style.
