COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Back in Black is our newest year-round beer available now in six pack cans and on draft. Brewed like an American IPA but with the addition of rich, dark malts, this beer has all the flavor and hop character you expect with a smooth, mellow finish.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2010 THIS BREW IS LIKE THE IMPERIAL STOUT OF IPA’S IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE AN IPA BUT WHEN YOU TASTE IT YOU KNOW THAT IT IS, AND, IT’S WONDERFUL. POURS BLACK WITH A RICH THICK CREAMY TAN HEAD AND SMELLS OF WONDERFUL SWEET HOPS AND CHERRIES. TASTES OF AN ABUNDANCE OF HOPS YET IS BALANCED WITH DARK ROASTED MALTS GIVING IT A HINT OF THE CHOCOLATE COFFEE FLAVORS OF A GOOD CHOCOLATE STOUT. IPA’S HAVE BEEN ON THE TOP OF MY LIST OF FAVORITE STYLES FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW , HOWEVER I HAVE BECOME BORED WITH THE FACT THAT MANY IPA’S LACK ANY DISTINCT DIFFERENCES. THIS BREW TRIUMPHS IN ITS INDIVIDUALITY.

12oz can from Brewforia
Appearance: Black with huge beige ice cream head with lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Dark malts, pine resin and metallic
Taste: Roasted malts and pine resin
Seems very ’raw’, the favors just don’t mesh well.

On draft. mediocre black IPAs just end up tasting like bad stouts. This was thin and sour and barely drinkable.

12 ounce can from Brewforia. Pours a pure black color with a medium cream colored head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolates, some metallic hops. A smooth roasted malt flavor, some chocolate. Not very hoppy, I’ve had many porters and stouts as hoppy as this- some citrus and metallic bite. A nice brew.

Pours suprisingly heady. Only a slight taste of grain, wish it had more. The hops taste of grass and earth. Its a solid beer worth trying.

can, in pint glass. (but I’ve had it on tap before) very dark brown, poured with a finger or so of good tan head. toasty, coffee backed by citrus, some caramel, coffee and cereal flavors. hints of smoke. good bitterness. light body, medium carbonation. Overall pretty tasty

Pours an attractive black/clear dark brown with a rocky manilla head. Nice nose of PacNW citrusy hops piercing through the roasty dark malt. Flavor has notes of roastiness, caramel, bread then citrusy/grapefruity hops. The finish has a mix of resinous hops and a tinge of burnt but not in a bad way. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not my favorite style, but a well-made version.
