COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Back in Black is our newest year-round beer available now in six pack cans and on draft. Brewed like an American IPA but with the addition of rich, dark malts, this beer has all the flavor and hop character you expect with a smooth, mellow finish.

FROM NOTES: August 7, í12 On draft at The Yard House, served in a half-yard. A: Light piney hops. Sweet malts. A: Pours a super dark brown, almost black, with a one-finger light tan head that dissipates slowly leaving decent lacing. T: Initially some roasty flavors giving way to a fruit like flavor and some sweetness. Bitterness follows. P: The body is pretty light with low amounts of carbonation and a slightly sticky feel. O: Not nearly as hop-forward as a black ale should be. It seems more like a watered down version of a RIS. Maybe it was the half-yard, but this black left me disappointed.

Aroma is sweet, full of fresh pineapple and mango with small tiny alcoholic note. From the background you can feel dark malts and roasted seeds. Itís perfectly clear, seal color, with tanned head and beautiful lacing. In taste itís so interesting. Itís somewhere in the middle between good american ipa, and classic bitter black IPA, with notes of dry stout. First itís dry, then a bit sweet and pleasant, to end with dark bitterness, which stays a bit in aftertaste. Itís really good and complex beer. Perfectly balanced. Mouth feel is changing many times. Great beer.

Pretty good. Aromaís mainly hop with a hint of malt. Appearance is excellent with a huge, long lasting, tan head, lots of lace, and a clear dark garnet color. Taste is similar to nose, good balance between malt sweet, hop bitter, & carbonic tang. Good body. Finish falls fast at first and then tapers very slow at the last. Fairly drinkable beer; wouldnít mind another.

From notes: this is very well balanced- there is a awesome bitter kick on top of the nice roasty and chocolaty malt flavor... Very good black IPA

Poured from 12oz can into pint glass. Big three finger off white head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is bitter grassy hops with a faint roasted touch of coffee. It does have a smooth mellow finish. Overall it is drinkable but not impressed. Leaves a lot to be desired. I am new to the style "Black IPA" but like the idea of it being someone who loves the roasted feature of stouts and porters who also appreciates the hops of IPAs. Will look for more Black IPAs to taste and rate.

2015-02-06. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy with a light roast and dark malt. 7+ Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, fruity green hops, notes of cocoa and roast. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Solid take on the style with an interesting balance between hops and roast. Enjoyable. Can shared by mds.

12 can Looks dark brown red. Smells of centennials and a hint of dark. Tastes really nicely hopped whilst having a dark sweet malt. Balanced for Black IPA.

12 ounce can. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a large rocky tan head. Wonderful pine and citrus hop nose with a touch of roasted malt and burnt sugar. Spicy and bitter, like a good IPA should be, with the added notes of roasted malt, sweet cocoa and dark coffee. Excellent balance and full bodied. A must have. Best Black IPA Iíve tasted yet.
