Nice hop and roast aroma. Black, with ruby highlights when held up to the light. Thick light tan head. Flavor is roasted, a bit of tartness and a little bit of bitterness in the finish. Nice and easy drinking, nothing extraordinary, but tasty.

355 ml can shared by Werckmeister. Thanks Stefan!
Dark cooper body, with a big, frothy, lacing, light beige head.
Aroma of grapefruit, stone fruits, pineapple, slight pine, vanilla, biscuit, slight grass.
Tastes of biscuit, some smooth coffee, cocoa, tea, grapefruit, stone fruits.
Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smooth, medium bitter, medium roasty, with cocoa, some coffee, some zesty hops, alcohol warming.
Very nice, smooth and quite unique Black IPA. Also has something with a Red IPA in common. Quite sweet, but really well balanced. Although the alcohol is noticeable, it drinks quite easy for the ABV.

can at home from trade with amazinwlrdfood, many thanks Rob. almost black color, medium big tan head, dissolves quickly. smells liqueur, fruity, some sweetness, peach, vanila, mango, light spices. medium to full body, medium carbonation, bubbly on the throat, light oily texture tastes of roasted malt, some sweetness, honey, some warming alcoholic, creamy, pines, very light fruit notes, some grapefruit, light roasted malty / light fruity finish. pretty decent, for the ABV for me alcohol a bit too present, apart from that drinks rather smooth.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is sweet, full of fresh pineapple and mango with small tiny alcoholic note. From the background you can feel dark malts and roasted seeds. Itís perfectly clear, seal color, with tanned head and beautiful lacing. In taste itís so interesting. Itís somewhere in the middle between good american ipa, and classic bitter black IPA, with notes of dry stout. First itís dry, then a bit sweet and pleasant, to end with dark bitterness, which stays a bit in aftertaste. Itís really good and complex beer. Perfectly balanced. Mouth feel is changing many times. Great beer.

Pretty good. Aromaís mainly hop with a hint of malt. Appearance is excellent with a huge, long lasting, tan head, lots of lace, and a clear dark garnet color. Taste is similar to nose, good balance between malt sweet, hop bitter, & carbonic tang. Good body. Finish falls fast at first and then tapers very slow at the last. Fairly drinkable beer; wouldnít mind another.

Can. Pours a brown with a tan head. Piney aroma. Piney hop flavor throughout that lingers a bit. A very good black IPA.

From notes: this is very well balanced- there is a awesome bitter kick on top of the nice roasty and chocolaty malt flavor... Very good black IPA

Poured from 12oz can into pint glass. Big three finger off white head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is bitter grassy hops with a faint roasted touch of coffee. It does have a smooth mellow finish.
Overall it is drinkable but not impressed. Leaves a lot to be desired. I am new to the style "Black IPA" but like the idea of it being someone who loves the roasted feature of stouts and porters who also appreciates the hops of IPAs. Will look for more Black IPAs to taste and rate.

2015-02-06. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy with a light roast and dark malt. 7+ Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, fruity green hops, notes of cocoa and roast. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Solid take on the style with an interesting balance between hops and roast. Enjoyable. Can shared by mds.

Looks dark brown red. Smells of centennials and a hint of dark. Tastes really nicely hopped whilst having a dark sweet malt. Balanced for Black IPA.
