COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Back in Black is our newest year-round beer available now in six pack cans and on draft. Brewed like an American IPA but with the addition of rich, dark malts, this beer has all the flavor and hop character you expect with a smooth, mellow finish.

12oz can from Brewforia
Appearance: Black with huge beige ice cream head with lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Dark malts, pine resin and metallic
Taste: Roasted malts and pine resin
Seems very ’raw’, the favors just don’t mesh well.

Nicely roasted aroma. Pours black with a dark tan head. Lots of coffee and chocoalte with a bitter, piney aftertaste. Tried in NJ in 2013.

Part of the Revolutionary theme 21st Amendment seems to focus on. This beer was made in honor of Paul Revere, and has a drawing of him on the bottle. It’s got a unique taste, but is still very good.

one of my favorites from 21A.. poured into Bell’s glassware..about a finger and a half of head..when held up to a light mostly black with red highlights..aroma: hop’s, caramel and chocolate notes..taste: first off i get chocolate and a ton of citrus hops..maybe a lil coffee in there as well...super smooth..i would drink this all damn day (and have) all in all, one of the best examples of the style that i’ve had. cheers.

Can: Poured a deep black with reddish hued edges, the head was slight off white. Aroma was strong hops. Taste was nice mix of caramel chocolate malts and nice strong hops that made it pop.

Very mainstream example of a bipa. A solid example for style, and def. not the last beer left in the fridge, but nothing special. Also, I understand franchise brewing, exceeding capacity, and not wanting to pay SF min. wag, but if your beer isn’t brewed in SF, you can’t make a BFD about it being an SF beer.

Can at home. Pours a deep reddish brown. Aroma is of pine, wet hops, herbs, roast. The taste is of roasted malt, oranges, resin, chocolate. Smooth, bitter, well rounded finish.

Excellent, mature, measured Black IPA. Good roast, big hops, particularly on the back end. Chocolate and citrus on the the swallow. Well made and very approachable.

Pours a hazy copper/brown with a bunch of fine off-white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is grass, trees, and some caramel. Palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is bitter, then gets a big bitter kick, then gets a bit more of a sweet balance before a slightly bitter aftertaste.

12oz can. Pours opaque black with thick foamy tan head. Aroma of deep hops up front and roasted caramel back. Body heavy with a soft carbonation. Flavor salt balanced by bitter, tapering nicely. Overall, a fairly simple brew for an IPA, but likeable. I was hoping for something more complex, but i am on a quest for the perfect Black IPA, so my standards may be unrealistic right now.
