Mar 9, 2003 Tap. Dark mahogany brown color with a tan head. Dark malts, slightly sour, caramel and toffee, and very little spice that I usually expect in a Belgian Strong Ale.

Feb 23, 2003 Medium brown color. No head. Somewhat yeasty, although it almost tastes and smells more English than Belgian. Some alcohol in the nose. Caramel flavor. Some plum. Mild bitterness in the finish. Medium body. Not the best Belgian-style beer but nice to see the attempt.

Feb 18, 2003 I think this is the first time that I have had an american brewpub beer which truly resembled one of the darker trappist beers. Taste was average though, lots of plum, raisin, and yeast. I really appreciated where they were going and it was a good beer, but dont expect a truly trappist taste.
