interesting aroma, almost viegary, but not in a bad way, then I think of cantaloupe, but not souring, just not overly sweet. a not too sweet fruity (along the border of cantaloupe & peach) in the flavor, then the hops wash in, contrasting but not clashing, fine balance with just a little hop harshness. almost white head, moderate on a clear slightly amber yellow, surprising warming finish. this is the first canned microbrew I’ve reviewed so was a little wary, fine brew,

1.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: JUN 30, 2011 On tap at MAd Mex. Looks like pale lager with a decent head. Smells sweet and perfumy. Big bitter taste with a little fruitiness in there that makes it almost palatable to the lager lover. At the end of each slug, its the same: big bitter hops then follows thru with the fruitiness. Very offensive, like the best IPA. Feel is oily soapy and mouth coating. On style.

Can->tulip: Pours a huge, white, rocky head that exhibits great lacing atop a clear, orange body that is nicely carbonated. Aroma of citrus and hops. Medium bodied, finishes bitterly, being only moderately bitter on the tongue and a hint of sweetness. Flavor’s duration is medium.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. can courtesy Jay. Golden and effervescent, huge, pillowy, egg-shell head. Citrus and piny nose, clean. Solid mouth feel, mild to moderate bitter with decent hop flavor. Very light body, no real alcohol flavor for being 7%, which is rather scary. Slightly metallic, kind of water. Good IPA

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Serving: Draft at Beer Run.
Nice deep copper color with a small, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is substantial and has notes of herbal hops, florals, and perhaps a slight bit of citrus. The taste is solidly bitter the way an IPA should be. Lots of herbal hops, grass, and floral notes. A small bit of hoppy spiciness too. Medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a long, bitter finish. A very solid example of an IPA although I wouldn’t mind just a hint more malt background. Definitely worth drinking.

Most recently - can @ brewpub (though bvc sent me one way back when and apparently I forgot to rate it). Disclaimer - side-by-side with their DIPA, which just isn’t fair to this one. Anyway - nose is maltier than ytou would expect for a "west coast" ipa. Lots of breadiness and raw grain with a less-than-overpowering floral hop profile. First impression is that it’s a tad on the light side, the malt and caramel forefront, but a nice transition to earthy hops that weren’t really in the nose and some citrus as it warms.Finish is dry and crisp. Highly drinkable. Great everyday beer, if not especially remarkable. I recall liking the can from Brandon more than the one I had @ the pub, but my palate was admittedly skewed a bit today.

12 oz. can from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Dark orange pour with a thick, off-white head. Assertive citrus and floral hop aroma. Great, well-balanced hop bitterness. Mostly tangerine in terms of the most distinguishable hop flavor. Hard to find much wrong with this beer. An all-around solid IPA and a nice addition to the "good beer in a can" lineup.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub in North Huntingdon PA this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a small yellow-white head that faded quickly. The aroma was sweet, tart and had a fairly strong fruity hop presence. The flavor was intensely fruity and piney with a tangy and bitter presence and undertones of floral and earthy hops. The finish was long, tangy and hoppy with a faint soapy undertone. Medium body. Nice.
