Deep golden color. Citrus and piney hop aromas. Assertive malt backbone supporting the overwhelming bitterness. Dry hopped in the fermenter with four types of hops giving an explosive hop aroma. Previously known as 21A-IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2008 Great example of a west coast IPA floral hoppy nose with big biierness and not to much malt. One of the best normal IPAs in Northern CA. Draft at Pub Re-Rate from Can. This some seriously God-Awful crap, notes of diacetyl, DMS, sulphur and grain husk. Soapy and grainy palate that I had to spit out.

1 yr. old. Shaun tells me it is called 2-1-A IPA these days - thanks, Shaun! Clear orange beer; orange-pinkish head. Very fruity nose; grapefruit, nectarine, peach - all of these in the hop varieties. Beautiful - bitterish though not overextended - aromatic as grapefruit, and yet there’s malt underneath, and discernible. Balance more than OK. Slick, hop-oily MF, slight burning sensation. Great West-Coast IPA. Sorry, I’m a s*cker for the stuff.

Tap. Amber ale with nice light hops aroma. Good hops and citrus in mouth. Some resinous notes. Good bodied. (June 2004).

Clear, light copper color, small white head. Citric hop nose with some toffee sweetness. Explosive grapefruity hop flavor with some astringent pine resin impressions. Any malt flavor is kind of a musty afterthought.

Great IPA! This beer has wonderful fruity esthers with a beautiful dark copper body. Great finish on the palate that leaves you wanting MORE! Definitely one of my favorite IPA’s ever. Cheers to Shawn O’Sullivan the brew master at 21-A for keeping me happy!

Very sweet, hoppy nectar aroma. Orange body with very little visible carbonation. Thin, off-white head. Excellent lace. A hop masterpiece! Very hoppy (72-75 IBUs). Peppery. Excellent. A little salty in the finish and a wee bit tart. An excellent representation of the style. Kudos.

on draft: this is a typical brewpub style ipa. some decent citrus hoppiness but not over the top and very average. crisp and refreshing.....burp, was that grass that just jumped out my mouth?

Tap@21st Amendment Brewery, Restaurant and Bar. Both grape and grapefruit are present. Pretty typically hoppy aromatic American IPA, lotsa flavour, but not high on character, pretty decent.

Draught at Barclay’s. Tons of hops and bitterness. Not enough backbone or body to stand up to all the hops.
