Deep golden color. Citrus and piney hop aromas. Assertive malt backbone supporting the overwhelming bitterness. Dry hopped in the fermenter with four types of hops giving an explosive hop aroma. Previously known as 21A-IPA.

I love "tasty-crack cans," yet I was a bit disappointed by this beer. After trying Back in Black and Bitter American I had high expectations for a clean, hop-forward beer that weren’t really met. It starts out great with a beautiful brilliant brass-colored body and lots of foam. Aroma is lightly pineapple-y but dominated more by malt than anything else. And flavor is similar, malt forward with hops playing a supporting role. Maybe my example was a touch old, but I would think the can packaging would extend the shelf life of this beer quite a bit. Still, I didn’t really think the prominence of malt in this beer was appropriate for an American IPA nor to my taste. Mouthfeel was pretty good. Not bad, just not what I was expecting.

Sweet grapefruit aroma. A golden amber body with slight haze. The head is an inch or so and laces the glass nicely. It has a good solid bitter bite but is surprisingly well balance with a malt that makes it taste bud friendly. Has rye like zest with a refreshing bold finish.

Slight fuirt scent followed by a yeasty bready smell. Taste is all hop and yeast taste with nice crisp finish. Has a nice light yellow golden color. I have been on a 21 amendment kick and this one hit my tougue just right wanting me to try more from you. Keep the good stuff coming from the west coast.

Can, pours bright gold with a fluffy white head. Piney hoppy nose, fresh tropical fruit and grapefruit, hop spice and medium caramel malts. Light medium bodied with an airy, creamy palate. Tastes fresh, lingering pleasant finish. Excellent west coast ipa

Pours golden orange from the can, tropical fruit and hops in abundance on the aroma. There is a big malt build in there, so the hop bitterness is well balanced. World class ipa

Canned. Enjoy by 9-25-15. Looks beautiful in the glass--hazy golden with a big fluffy white head that lasts. Pine aroma. Taste is pine and grapefruit, very bitter, malt base has a touch of caramel. Full mouthfeel. Very dry finish. Respectable IPA, but $10.00 for a sixer of cans seems a bit of a poor value. Paired with some left over pizza on a Sunday morning.

Single can from Trader Joe’s, Downers Grove. A gold-to-brassy malt color under a thick, stiff head. Mainly pine in the hop flavor; this was a "Best by 6/12/15," and hop nose is starting to fade just a bit. But there is still a lot of bitterness and pine in the first sip. A little extra malt adds a bit more alcohol and more backbone to hold up against the hop assault. Hop strength merely increases as I work my way down the glass. Big tatse, big finish.
