Excellent piney/citrus nose, the hop blast was excellent, hops slam off the tongue and gives a nice citrus flavor to it

Is this an impossible category? With "pale ale" below it and "imperial IPA" above it, have we made it impossible to make a respectable IPA? Why does everyone say this is "pretty good" or "enough" or "ok" or "nice?" Stop chanting ’Go big or go home’ this is a real IPA. It is balanced, it doesn’t overwhelm you with hops. It paints the hop aroma over good hop flavor and balances it with hop bitterness all on a canvas of malt support. You know what? Nothings wrong with that. Nothing.

One of my favorite beers from one of my favorite breweries. This is probably the most drinkable IPA I've ever had. At 7%, though, it can sneak up on you pretty quick.

It was easy to drink a yard. Not too much hops. Afterwards it was hard to describe it. It happens :)

Pours a sudsy, golden orange. Aromas of citrus, especially grapefruit. Nice white lacing on beer glass. Very chewy on initial taste and impressively balanced considering the strong hops presence. Intense tingling on tongue suggestive of great mouthful. A highly enjoyable IPA.

On cask. This beer was the regular 21 A IPA dry-hopped in the cask and served by gravity. The bartender did not know what hops where in the cask. Pours a murky, electric shade of copper with a dirty white head. HUGE hop aromas; mostly orange notes but also some grapefruit, flowers and maybe a little grass. Perfect balance of malt and tons of hops.

Great IPA! This beer has wonderful fruity esthers with a beautiful dark copper body. Great finish on the palate that leaves you wanting MORE!
Definitely one of my favorite IPA’s ever. Cheers to Shawn O’Sullivan the brew master at 21-A for keeping me happy!

A Mes rate: Can at the Struise Farm during Urbain’s Post Zythos Struise Tasting. Two things: 1. This is possibly the best IPA I have ever tasted. 2. This is certainly the best canned goods I have experienced. :) What a dumbo I am, I just went to the trouble of emailing the brewer to ask who it was who brought this to the farm so I could say thanks. Then I come here to put the rate in and Ian has already made a note of it being Steve. So erm.. yeah, HUGE thanks to Steve! Thick dark golden colour with a slim but good white head, A very good looking beer. Amazing hoppage. Piney spruce, awesome grassy notes, citric bitterness and underpinned by some glorious caramel malt. The dry hoping is clear and works incredibly well. It zips up the nostrils from the very start and lingers beautifullly for the finish. No surprises here just everything done to perfection. Balance and finesse is not something I get very often from American beers in all honesty. This has both and is bloody excellent.

Got this off the Growler Bar at Stony Brook Beverage! Like the name, but Love the beer! The aroma is big bold hops of pine and grapefruit juice, sweet tangelo backed up by a malty sweetness. The taste is semi sweet tangelo, orange peel and malt sweetness. Near midway the sweet malts elbow into the flavor but eventually succumb to increasing pine and grapefruit hop bitterness.Very tasty brew.

It pours well but does not develop a very thick head on the beer. The smell of pineapples and bannanas pours out of the glass. It goes down smooth and leaves a great after taste. This is a beer that I will definatley be getting again.
