Deep golden color. Citrus and piney hop aromas. Assertive malt backbone supporting the overwhelming bitterness. Dry hopped in the fermenter with four types of hops giving an explosive hop aroma. Previously known as 21A-IPA.

Bottle. The pour was a clear medium golden amber with an average sized (1-2 finger) white fluffy head that diminished down to a few puddles and a large collar of residue, creating some excellent sheeting of sticky lacing. The aroma was of a straw like malt, floral and grassy hops and a moldy yeast with notes of caramel and citrus (grapefruit and orange peel). The taste was lightly bitter, mildly malty and a tad acidic with a hint of caramel from the start and then became very hoppy with a strong citrus peel bitterness and a decent alcohol presence towards the end. The flavor lingered for a decent while being of a bitter hoppy citrus taste. Mouthfeel was a few steps beyond light in body with a dry oily texture and a nice lively carbonation. Overall a brew with a good balance of bitterness and maltiness with a great hoppy citrus feel...

(Can) A pretty decent IPA. Lots of flavor: a bit of pineapple and nice and floral. Stands out from the usual grapefruit-centric IPAs.

Farbe orange, goldig und trüb. Geruch leicht C-Hopfen und Kräuter. Recht trocken, im Geschmack dann schon sehr bitter und astringierend.

Pours dark Amber, big head. Aroma of cloves, papaya, pine. Taste is pear, piney, malty finish. Very good. Paid $2.50 us for a six pack. I bet in Canada that would cost me $18.

Super drinkable IPA. Not over the top with 70 IBU and an ok fruit and bitter hoppiness. Not a good palate/finish relative to the start and nice initial tastes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I’ve had this many times but never rated. Can pour avg gold with moderate white head. Nose a strong dank hop, a some green apple, mild tropical fruit. Taste moderate bitter up front then lightly spicy and fruit hop. Mid palate bitterness lasts through the finish. Reasonable sweet malt. When first available this was one of the best ipa available in a can. Now there are several better options.
