Deep golden color. Citrus and piney hop aromas. Assertive malt backbone supporting the overwhelming bitterness. Dry hopped in the fermenter with four types of hops giving an explosive hop aroma. Previously known as 21A-IPA.

The high IBU sacrifices the complex flavor that a good IPA should have. The aroma is fine, it is great to smell, but I can’t really seem to find the evidence of "assertive malt backbone" in this beer. Also I think it also seems too highly carbonated, which does not help with increasing flavor. It is a bit overly smooth. Seems like the only thing that prevents me from chugging this is the bitterness. However, the hop characters in this beer allows for some sweet taste after drinking this beer. Overall, I would say 21stA brew free or die IPA feels more like an overly hopped bud lite rather than an IPA.

I’ve had this many times but never rated. Can pour avg gold with moderate white head. Nose a strong dank hop, a some green apple, mild tropical fruit. Taste moderate bitter up front then lightly spicy and fruit hop. Mid palate bitterness lasts through the finish. Reasonable sweet malt. When first available this was one of the best ipa available in a can. Now there are several better options.

Cloudy honey gold with big fluffy head. Aroma of spicy dank grassy hops. Taste- crackery dry malt with a spicy green grassy hop balance. Maybe a touch of pine. Thicker malty mouthfeel but well balanced. Nice IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Clear golden colour. Aroma crystal, typical American malty. Tastes brutal. Hop kick in your head, high bitterness, lots of grapefruity zesty citrusy flavour. Very good. Light alcohol burn.

appearance: clear golden orange with two fingers of creamy juuuust-off-white head that slowly shrinks to a thick cap and leaves generous lacing. aroma: peach, mango, pineapple, apricot, with a popcorn-to-graham cracker malt note. taste: tropical fruit hoppy notes dominate up front, with pineapple, mango, maybe some guava; there’s a bit of cereal malt, but not as much as seemingly advertised. finish: lingering dry bitterness, with just a hint of toast underneath. notes: Seemed like a pretty typical IPA, albeit one that’s on the better end of the spectrum. Good palate. Would drink again, but in this IPA jungle it doesn’t do much to stand out. Not that it needs to, it’s a solid beer, but for me it’s not in that top echelon. Gift sixpack from Tim for my birthday.

Golden with a light haze, stippled film and soft lacing ringed head. Nose is peachy citrus. Initial taste is soft playful pineapple, slightly cheesy. Carbonation is solid, mouthfeel swift and lean. Clears up on the finish but is solidly resinous bitter, light dankly limey linger.

From the can marked Enjoy by 09/09/15. It pours orange-amber with a full head.. Plenty of floral and some fruit or citrus notes in the aroma. The body is medium. Roasted malt notes at first the taste but the hop bitterness takes over in sort order and brings this to a bitter finish.
