COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep golden color. Citrus and piney hop aromas. Assertive malt backbone supporting the overwhelming bitterness. Dry hopped in the fermenter with four types of hops giving an explosive hop aroma. Previously known as 21A-IPA.

The high IBU sacrifices the complex flavor that a good IPA should have. The aroma is fine, it is great to smell, but I canít really seem to find the evidence of "assertive malt backbone" in this beer. Also I think it also seems too highly carbonated, which does not help with increasing flavor. It is a bit overly smooth. Seems like the only thing that prevents me from chugging this is the bitterness. However, the hop characters in this beer allows for some sweet taste after drinking this beer. Overall, I would say 21stA brew free or die IPA feels more like an overly hopped bud lite rather than an IPA.

Fruity smell not piney. Amber color small head, a bit maltier than I prefer with a little bitter aftertaste but not much. Good everyday IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crisp, great balance, a can of this consumed alongside a bottle of Sculpin and this one wins hands down. The balance is what makes this an excellent beer.

Can. Pours hazy amber with a lasting white frothy to creamy head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus. Flavor of caramel, sweet citrus, in a medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet and lightly bitter taste and an up front brief lightly bitter finish leading to soft sweetness in the far finish.

This is a solid beer for what it is. Kind of floral with a bitter after taste. Very woody but could be better, but still top notch.

This is real good. Theres a tone of pine, citrus and tropical fruit in the aroma. Really fresh smelling. Like someone squeezed a bunch of pineapple and mango into the glass. Really fresh and hoppy with a nice balance. Super good stuff cheers.

Pours mildly cloudy. Mild hops, fairly sweet. Iíve had this beer a few times over about a 4 year span. I remember liking it more in previous tries. Not a bad beer, but not really anything special.

Always a solid choice. Not overwhelmingly bitter which is nice, and a subtle maltiness.

Testing out different canned IPAs. I like this, but itís no standout, especially in the crowded, competitive style

From the tap at the 21st Amendment brewpub. Pours a clear golden apple juice with a thin white head. Nose is floral hops with lots of tropical fruit notes. In the mouth itís citrus, grapefruit and a touch of mango with a medium malt backbone. Light malt sweetness. The pine bitterness lingers for a long time but is rather mellow. Well balanced and easily drinkable IPA!

Can. This is probably the third six pack that Iíve had in the last 6 months and I can conclude that I dont like it. It always tastes sour and like pears. Date on the bottom f the can says best by 1/21/15 so itís not skunked. Just mediocre at best.
